my search was not working so i need to ask

my girls car over heats when she stops at a light but after that its ok ... any help ?

 

i'd say her fan isnt turning on to help cool the radiator, but when she's moving, there's enough airflow to cool it....check and see if it comes on...may have a loose wire, or a blown fuse, or just put it on a switch....thats whut i did with my old car, although girls might have a problem comprehending the whole switch idea...

 

check fan relay 1st. Ive had bad ones on all my hondas so far. Go to wrecking yard and pick one up for $1-$5. check to make sure the fan works by hooking it up to a 12v power source as well.
