It looks like the exhaust is off by a tooth or so. Set it up right now, so you don't have to worry about it later.

so your sayin move it one tooth to the right (the exhaust cam)?

what about the lines on the cam gears, do that matter?

there is a mark on the cover behind the camgears that the lines on the came gears should line up with.

i think there is too much slack in the belt between the cam gears. you may be a tooth off.

how do u tighten the timing belt? also i moved the exhaust cam gear one tooth to the right...and i turned it on and it didnt want to rev up or go even past 2k rpms

You tighten up the belt with the Tensionor (sp?) Its the 14mm bolt that you loosen to take off the timing belt. Also in the middle there should be 3 marks liked up straight across, if its off then the belt is off, which it is anyway . Need to fix the exhaust cam.

Here is a picture of your picture telling you what i mean:



See the arrow that i made, that is the marking your suppost to be matching with. Both of your cams are off if that was TDC.

Edit: Also theres another line on the left side of the timing belt cover, and the right side of the timing belt cover, they need to all be lined up good and it has a little angle to it.

sweet, thanks for the help bro . . gonna try to checkon that tomrrow morning

PS . . what a damn night, first we swapped my QuafeLSD Tranny/Exedy Clutch/Exedy 10lb flywheel, for my friends stock B16 tranny clutch & flywheel. . finally, when that was done i ventured into my cam situation . . my friend who helped me has an EBP Si .. he helped me out with the whole thing (did most of the work) .. he has a skunk2 exhaust that he got ticketed for, gave him my stock exhaust system to borrow to get checked off... he goes back home in sac.. and his **** gets stolen . . and i'm tryin to sell my car bone stock
