Just went out driving around and i just checked to see if everything is still ok. and the timing belt can be pushed in on the exhaust side of the belt and the drivers side is tight... is it suppose to be that way? how much play should there be in the belt?

Mine is the same way......as long as the belt doesn't deflect more than 1/2" I believe, it's okay.

Adjust your tensioner. You don't want that belt too floppy.

The tensioner is adjusted. i noticed the cam gears are not lining up right. the Circle that is for the UP position is slightly to the left on both gears when the straight line is lined up. is this normal? BTW my Intake cam is advanced 5 degree's

Both of the circles with the lines should line straight up with your crank tdc as well. Don't go my the inner markings, because that is how you adjust your cam timing. The outer part should not change and when everything is TDC the outer part of the gears along with the crank pulley should be lined up correctly. If not, then redo your timing belt and line everything up. What cams are you running? Is your exhaust cam adjusted as well?

Off topic, but did you adjust your cams on a dyno or did you adjust them that way because somebody with the same setup as you is running +5 degrees and it's working for them? No 2 engines are the same. You might actually be LOSING power by running that way if you didn't get it done on a dyno.

it was done on a dyno. Ohh i forgot to mention that the cylinder head is milled .04"

I would take off the belt and line everything up and try it again my best guess

Got it running. lined up the timing as best as a i could. Idles fine sounds good all the way around. i havent taken it up to vtec yet. I got 6" of snow here so i guess that will have to wait. but in the mean time i can go out and snow plow
