ground control install help
the coilover

FRONT SHOCKS

REAR SHOCKS

ok so out of all the parts/pieces that comes with the koni yellow shocks, what parts/pieces doesnt need to be used with the ground control coilovers?
as for the parts that will be used, in what order do they go in? do i follow the original wtf koni instructions, then just put the sleeves over the shocks? what are those rubber pieces that came with the g/c used for? it doesnt metion anything about it in any diagram.
please someone who has the same setup as me, please please chime in.
diagram of how the whole thing goes together will be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

i guess its a mistake on thier part. the sleeves are a tight fit where 2 sleeves go on the front exclusively and the other 2 on the rear. i had to try all fits because i got equal length springs.
they did mark that the front is 500llbs and the rear 400lbs but i wanted the other way around. good thing i ordered them equal lengths right so i can interchange the springs. thats ok right? while at the same time the sleeves cant?

GREAT!!!!
i was afraid for a moment though, one of the back sleeves wouldnt slide right on just like the other rear sleeve. i had to give it a little more push to get it to slide down. im thinking its just the paint ont he shock that causes it.
and Question: since equal length springs,
Springs interchange able front/back while
SLEVEES not interchangeable, correct?
thanks for the fast help!

add another, just making sure, im paranoid about things, like my 1 week ctr cam install, and 2 try oilpan gasket change.
"tighten clamping screw before setting car down"
is that for that screw that needs the allen wrench? tighten it down so the adjusting height adjusting gold piece tigtens/closes up and doesnt move?

the over thinking continues:
the circle metal washer that he crossed out, one has a slightly larger diameter but thiner while the other is smaller but thicker. does it matter which one is used? i think not, just as long as its consistent in all 4 corners?

oh god did you install already
you need the rubber silicon rings man...god dann...ur coil over won't get unstable ....those go between the sleeve and the shock...so the metal won't grind each and making sound, if they move around god ddann suspension will goign weird...

yesh it does matter to use the right one...pick the one that you think best fit in...usually the smaller one, if you found one, put it in the shock and slide the sleeve down, you have two rubber ring...one on top one on bottom of the same shock..so each shock should have 2 rubber rings

Hmm you got the same length springs all around... that means you won't be able to go as low in the back, but maybe that doesn't matter to you.
Did you order koni-specific Ground Controls? The sleeves should match the diameter of the koni shock body EXACTLY, and they should have a machined lip on the bottom that sits on the circlip on the shock body. You do not use the Koni spring perch, or the metal rings on the front shocks that go under the spring perch.
The 2 flat washers are meant to go above and below the stock dust cover. You can't use the stock dust cover, but I still put on both washers anyway. Both washers should have the same ID, but one has a slightly larger OD than the other one. The smaller one goes on first, then the larger one on top.
So your install should go like this:
1. slip sleeve over shock (I used a piece of electrical tape to keep the sleeve from spinning on the shock body)
2. Put on the bump stop
3. then those 2 washers
4. now put on the spring
5. then the upper mount, with the new GC insulator installed, and also the new Koni metal sleeve installed in the bushings
6. then the dished washer, dish facing up
7. then the 2 jam nuts
Here's a how-to thread I made, which also includes custom-made dust boots, but you should be able to follow it whether you want to use those boots or not:
