Underneath the glove box is a blue 2-wire connector plugged into a blue plastic holder. Unplug the connector and jumper it with a piece of wire or paper clip. Turn the ignition on but don't start the car. Your check engine light will begin to flash.
There is a 2 digit number (XY) associated with a code. The long flashes are X and the short ones are Y.
ie. long flash..... long flash.... long flash..... short flash.. short flash.. short flash.. would = 33.
Pull the code and tell me the number. I'll hook you up.

Code 90 = EVAP system leak detected.
Here are your possibilities:
1. A faulty gas cap (or you didn't tighten it all the way last time you gas'd up).
2. Proper vacuum connections.
3. Fuel tank leak.
4. EVAP control canister vent shut valve malfunction.
5. EVAP control canister vent shut valve circuit malfunction.
6. EVAP purge control solenoid valve malfunction.
7. EVAP purge control solenoid valve circuit malfunction.
8. EVAP by-pass solenoid valve malfunction.
9. EVAP by-pass solenoid valve circuit malfunction.
10. Fuel tank pressure sensor malfunction.
11. Fuel tank pressure sensor circuit malfunction.
12. EVAP control canister malfunction.
Good luck.

the charcoal canister is part of the "huge" evap system.
most people kill the charcoal canister by overfilling their car ( jaming the last oz of gasoline in the the already full tank)
the charcoal canister is design to filter the fume not the actual gasoline, the best part about it is that the damn thing cost like 2 bill or more.
do a quick check, try loose it and shake it a bit, a new one(or well kept one) should be fairy light, once gasoline is introduces to the canister, it will add up in weight.
the good part? or it could just be your losse gas cap( by not closing the gas cap completely the sensor will think there's a leak in the closed/sealed fuel system and then the yellow cel will when off)
