Default 5th Gens - Base vs. SH part 2

So I was reading this thread https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-...-vs-sh-762014/ which is now locked for some reason which is a shame as there is more info missing, so anyway I wanted to add that I have what appears to be a 5th gen SH with auto and no ATTS, according to the VIN plate it was made in 1996 as it has a 0 in the place of date but on log book it's registered in March 1997, VIN says its serial is number 44 off the line and engine is number 55, its auto but has the 5 for vehicle grade which means type SH, it also doesn't have ckp/tdc sensors on the crank and no place to put them either, all sensors are in the distributor only and no plug for them down near the crank, it's all factory as well as I know the original buyer from new never done anything to it only had CV boots changed and standard services.

Also forgot to mention it also doesn't have a knock sensor either

NONE of that jives with a 5G Prelude. If your VIN information suggests that the car is an SH, then it would have the ATTS system bolted to the back of the block, the oil filter would be up high next to the drivers side of the intake manifold (could be changed from above), and the engine would be equipped with the pair of sensors on the oil pump/crank snout as well as the Knock sensor.

Yes that what I read too, but I think as this was one of the first 100 cars made they seemed to have made a Frankenstein car, but its VIN is jhmbb82500c000044 which as you can see has the 2 for : 2-door Coupe/4-speed Automatic and the 5 for : Prelude Type SH, it also has a 3 pin connector on where you would plug the obd2 in so can't plug one in, can only think they made the first few cars not to any certain countries spec as maybe they had not thought of exporting yet, I've not seen a full JAP import so can't compare if it's the same setup

Wait... is this a USDM 5G Prelude or a JDM 5G Prelude ? If it is JDM (and the VIN plate suggests it is), nothing that I said necessarily applies.

yes this is a weird fist production run, it's not a UK import but does seem to be JDM, it car 44 off the line and was sent to the UK as a promotion car for Honda showroom but my mate's mum liked it so much she bought it off them in March 97, the date code is 0 which would suggest 1996 is when it was made, it's a pain to diag as none of the shop manuals seem to match, which is why I'm asking for help on another thread about a weird spark pattern
