Default Difference between AUTO and Manual harness?

I was wondering if there is any difference between the AUTO and Manual wiring harness. I just recently purchased one and I wnat to make sure it is the right one. I already put it on the engine (it is out of the car) and every plug matched up fine. Anyone know the difference if there is one?

if you are using an auto harness in a manual, you might have to run some wires to make the reverse light to work.

Engine harness? Checking the ECU plugs is the easiest way.. you'll have an extra plug if u have an auto harness and manual ecu

and............. if you are throwing any CEL's with a manual ecu and an auto harness you will not be able to check the codes with the fourth plug out...... meaning.... you'll have to put an auto ecu back in and sift through all the auto tranny sensors CEL's you will be getting and find out which one you have

edit: double post

I specifically bought a JDM P08 AUTO ECU for the engine and the ECU has 3 plug-in places. The harness has 3 main plugs on the left side and 3 on the right side. I am assuming that trhe 3 on the left go to the eging fuse box and then into the ECU, the 3 on the right go to the fusebox inside...

There were not any extra plugs on the harness - all of them were used up to plug directly into the engine and tranny.

my experience between 96-98 EX 5 Speed
and 96-98 EX Auto

the auto has a whole extra plug/set of wires. the IACV on a auto was 3 pin and a 5 speed was 2 pin. other then that there pretty similar

what car?? engine??? etc??

you should have. auto trannies have about four or five more sensors then manual trannies. I believe you should have gotten code 70 or 71, or some other auto tranny code.

I did an auto to manual on my 96 ex, I did not throw any codes for the auto tranny. I am using a manual ecu with auto harness, just had to rewire/repin for the IACV 2wire/3wire difference as earlier mentioned. And I can check my codes fine so I dont know where you got the info about not being able to check codes with the 4th plug out. In my case there is no problem.

I am however getting a pesky code 90 which I am guessing is not related to the auto to manual conversion. I am still trying to track that done. I have already swapped the EVAP canister and the code comes back. Any of you have this issue?
