Are you asking or telling?
Yup, for us OBD2 guys, we need to come up with another ECU (for them to fix), and they'll also sell us the adaptor needed to plug it in. Sure adds up $$, but it's supposed to work well.

Well since you have a B16 you can use the Civic ex obd1 ecu. Its us gsr folks that have to either find a obd1 p72 ecu or find an ex and change out the intake manifold to the skunk2 to eliminate the secondary butterflies.

So people with the OBD-II equipped GSR's can't run a P28 ECU unless we change our intake manifold?

Yes you can use a P28. The P28 does not switch the runner though. The runner stays in the short position. You get the same result if you put a Skunk (aka mugen chip) into your P72. Except this chip disables most error codes, so you do not know if you get a problem.

97 would be OBDII. 96 is the first year they switched to OBDII, so 97 would have it too.

Hello Doug, will the D16Z6 ECU from a 92-95 Civic EX work with the adapter cable in my 97 Civic EX? I want to get a stage 2b without the GM 3 bar map sensor to begin with. Maybe later on I will grab it, but I have no plans on boosting over 11PSI in the forseeable future. Thank you.

for an H22A4 OBD2 to backdate to OBD1, which ecu is better? also what are the different options/capabilities/pros/cons of using either the p28 or the p72?

P72 also supports the knock sensor, but the P28 doesnt.
