Tried to install the westin bar
Apparently the diesel have a different subframe.
The brackets does not line up and I'll have to get the brackets customized to be able to install the bar
I'm so pissed right now

Sorry to hear about the rims and the bull bar but at least it looks like a beast....I have a Westin Bar -0125 also but didn't installed it yet. I'm quite confused to see that the Diesel doesnt have same mounting wholes as the Petrol? Also have Diesel:\
What is the product number of you mounting kit?
I have the CRV 02-06 mounting kit.
The wholes are there according to the instructions, however the bolts mentioned is not, you see the hole n the first pick.
To be able to get a bolt down that hole however you need to take down the intercooler for example as it is blocking the hole on the upper part of the frame.
Also as you can see the frame is "wavey" which make the bolts to short to fit into the bracket, since it can not lie flat against the frame, and the outer mount is also rubbing against the frame.
I tried to turn it the other direction, upside down, but then the bracket for the chassie bolt doesn´t line up
Wow, thats sucks.... good to know for what im looking forward:D:S
Basically this Bar is more for the look than for the real purpose. Should give a try with a custom mounting, if you have tools and some experience you could do it by your own, or any mechanic should do in an hour or so.
However have you contacted the seller or the company? At leat some compensation would be appreciated.
What are you willing to do with the fenders? Are you going to make it wider? I dont think its healthy for the suspension. I was running 15x8,25 et 0 on my other car, after about 25.000km I had few bad worn silents and broken lower arm ball joint. With your setup its actually 9 or 9,5 wide.
Naah, now that I´ve been thinking about it, should be able to be done with some longer bolts and spacer plates, like use a regular building materials that you find in any DIY warehouse.
Just have to get the time to get under the car again as I don´t have access to any garage, meaning me crawling on the ground.
The bar is only for show and for idiots who can´t see distance when reversing into parking spaces
Since it is imported from US to Europe, the seller won´t give a rats *** really
The wheels on the picture is 16x8" ET-40, the more I look at it the more I love the look.
However something is not correct since I get vibrations when driving even though the wheels are balanced.
Looking for new wheels and will probably end up with 16x8 ET-10 in the rear and 16x7 ET00 in the front or similar.
Anyone have any idea how 16x8" ET00 would sit with 225/70 tires?
In the rear I don´t think there would be any problems but would it rub in the rear?
The front is rubbing now in full turn with the -40 and 215/65 tires
got to say I actually like it with the wheels poking out, maybe some arch flares would sort it out a little?
Shame about the safari bar, doubly as as you know I’m in the same position with mine! From the picture would it be easily remedied with a few washers to bridge the gap and a longer bolt? Is this the only figment issue or does the other part of the bracket not line up also?

It grows on me by each day
Not to talk about the looks you get
But unfortunately there is rubbing at full turns and vibrations

I contacted Westin and got their official answer yesterday. "It won’t work due to the difference in the frame between US and European models and bumper with intercooler. The US models don’t come in diesel"
Now I'm even more fueled to solve it, since I can't sell it even.
Not gonna happen this weekend though due to rain and orthodox easter
99 stock AWD 5SPD. And new to the group thanks for any help and tips. And I'm glad to see there's a OFF ROAD THREAD ALREADYThis was before i cut the trim
So I just finished installing the lift in my 2005 CRV. Russian spacers 30mm front, and 36mm rear spacer in the back ( i made a 6mm booster for it as I thought 30mm would not be quite enough. Had some major issues with rusted bolts and bushings. Otherwise all went fairly well. I had to cut out the rear outer rearward bushing and toe adjuster bolt (also did a wheel bearing while I was working on it) Can't seem to find a part number for that bolt. I just used a regular grade 8 bolt until I find a replacement. I will have to replace the bolt and bushing on the other side as well as it is seized too. Could not get the rear toe correct.
Does anyone know the part number for this cam bolt. Its not like the front cam bolts. This one has the off centre cam washers, and the bolt is flat on 2 sides.
Oh ya I'll post up some pics as soon as I take some too tired now
These links may help - I've bought all these Moog parts for our model year, they are good parts, hold up well. Consider their grease fitting sway bar links too if you are already down there.
Ya those are the front cam bolts used for camber adjustment.
For any one else that might be looking I found the parts I am looking for, these are the Honda part numbers . Probably available from local parts suppliers, I also saw many online retailers. Just took some time to find the part numbers and correct name
no I didn't search, but ive read every page of this thread hoping I wasn't the only one, but.....
has anyone ended up with negative camber after a lift? bought some 1.5 and 2.5 spacers for my 2000 crv and all four corners have negative camber after the install. just find this odd since when I lifted my rt4wd wagon I ended up with positive camber. am I still the king of shouldn't happen, or have others been down this road too?
Haven't been on here for a while. Finally got the rims and tires on... next is waiting for my lift kit,.
Doing my leather interior, custom headliner and light bars. Running into problems choosing the right size light bar for the top though 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 fml!
Hey guys....i got a suggestion....when you post picts of your beloved project would it be too much to ask to add lift, tire and wheel size? Im sure others would appreciate it as much as i would.
Ive seen some kool *** CRVs on this thread and some of you has been gracious enough to mention the info, not everyone. Lets make it a standard.
Ive got my wheel spacers, rear camber adjusters, found a great deal on 15x7 wheels and i have my concentric rings, lift kit on order, just gotta get a clear answer on tires.
Repost a pic of your V with the standard info and it would really help out us lazy customizers that dont wanna sift thru 111 pages of vague info.
