Bingo. I'm going to attempt the repair with the stainless patch and see what happens. If it turns out nice, all good. If not, I'll cut the panel out and redo the whole thing.

It's all good man! I live for this kind of ****! When deciding whether or not I should attempt any particular project, nothing motivates me more to learn than seeing how much someone else would charge me to complete said project...
Re: LiteraCola's Project Daily, Version 3.0: 98 DX Hatch
So yesterday I took my first nose-dive into learning how to do body work. One step closer to Dip Day! I had about a 2" circle on the passenger door and the paint was bubbling up around the rear wiper. I also sanded off the old glue from the emblems. As for the H, I'll probably keep it and dip it black once the rest of the car is done. Before anyone comments on the hard tape lines, this project is far from finished. The side skirts will also be removed and refinished in preparation for the dip. This is Step 1. Enjoy.
P.S. The first photo was taken with my phone held vertically. When I saved it to my work PC, I rotated it beforehand. I've noticed that with all photos that are rotated, the rotation never works when they're uploaded here. What the hell?
Re: LiteraCola's Project Daily, Version 3.0: 98 DX Hatch
Good morning, everyone! It's been a while since I posted any updates. I haven't done much with the car lately; I really need to get moving again. The car has been running flawlessly so I've left it alone. Since my last post, I stripped, sanded and painted the SIs and had new tires mounted. I went with a metallic silver and a few coats of gloss clear. They look great, but I'm eventually going to PD them gunmetal gloss. The paint job is just in case I decide to sell them somewhere down the road. I wanted a good base instead of just PDing over a shitty finish. Here are some before and after photos. I apologize, I don't have any good before photos. As far as the rust repair, I haven't made any progress; I did a 19-day stretch at work so I haven't had time to do much of anything. On the bright side, I did pretty well financially during that stretch and I might just pay a professional to fix the rust. I'm thinking it's a little above my level of expertise. Once the rust is repaired (maybe by the end of the summer), I'll be PDing the whole car "Frozen Blue", photo at the bottom of the post. Say what you want about PD. I've been familiar with it from the beginning and I've used it multiple times with awesome results. Maybe one day I'll fork out $2k for a decent paint job, but that's not happening right now.
Current mods on the docket:
Weather Tech rain guards
Spec D Tuning yellow fogs
Antenna delete
Rear wiper delete

Wow. I guess I should pay more attention. I've been out of the forum game for a while haha.
Anyways, on Thursday I'm supposed to go meet a dude with a wrecked silver EK hatch so I can pull a few parts for mine. Other than being "cosmetically totalled", his car is solid; it's a 99 with a JDM B20/LS trans swap. If I had more room for a project car, I'ld buy the whole damn thing and part it out myself, keeping the engine for myself though, and pairing it with a GSR trans. Oh, a girl can dream haha. In the meantime, I'm taking his rear bumper, door panels and his 5G Prelude seats. I'll see how I like them in an EK and make my decision then.
For your viewing "pleasure", I installed a couple goodies this past weekend. And before anyone comments on how crooked the passenger side light is, I'm gonna straight it up when I get home today. I also installed the new throttle cable that I've had for months. I can finally drive bare-foot without fighting the notchy go(not)fast pedal. I rerouted the cable so it had less sharp bends to try and remedy the issue further. No photos necessary for that one, unless you really want one...
OH! Last thing... I totally forgot to mention that last month I installed a Yonaka catback. Sure, it's cheap as F, but hey, it's cheap as F and sounds awesome.

Back when I still lived at home (and had no bills), I bought a WS2 for my 5G Prelude, and loved every minute of it!
Now that I'm an adult, I really have to think about things like that before buying them. When this Yonaka gives it up prematurely (because it evitably will), I'll go for a WS2.

The funny thing is, I found a list of things to do on the Civic that I wrote 10 YEARS AGO, and it included A'PEXi exhaust.
So I got my $ worth out of the Aero Turbine. But I am afraid I have suffered some hearing loss during that time. I just don't think that drone is okay for your ears.
I don't want to be the old, deaf grandpa who can't hear his grand kids - that will suck...

Our civics don't have enough sound dampening anyways, so we hear alot of road noise. We can minimize but its there. Newer cars sound way quiet than our civics.
