Default Cruise control?

95 Civic... Cruise doesn't work. I checked fuses and they are fine, everything is hooked up. Cruise button lights up when I press it but nothing happens when I press "set" and the cruise light on the dash never comes on.

How about checking your lower clutch switch pad on the clutch pedal to make sure that your cruise control isn't automatically disengaging simply because the system believes that you are pushing the clutch pedal in. If the pad is missing, your cruise will not engage.

what JRCIVIC says...disregard the left arrow on the pic below. The pic is just a similar setup, not my actual clutch pedal. my 97 had the SAME symptoms as yours, could not get it to "set". I found my lower rubber pad on my clutch was torn and barely hanging from the pedal. The pad depresses an "end switch" telling the car you don't have the clutch pushed in. I went to my local junk yard and salvaged 3 of these pads from a couple cars. They look like the pics below and mount on the lower ear of your clutch pedal.

As the author of this DIY, I disagree. OP's answer is in the Cruise Control troubleshooting section of the Helm's Service Manual for his car.
