Leaking oil from Vtec Solenoid/Spool valve. Any idea why?
I'm getting a good amount of oil leaking from around the VTEC solenoid/spool valve area. Could it be that Vtec solenoid/spool valve gasket is bad or could the whole thing need replacement?

Just goto Honda, and buy a new vtec solenoid gasket. It only takes a 10mm wrench and a couple min.

Just go buy a new gasket. It might not be the vtec soleniod gasket though, might also be your cam plugs. Oem ones usually leak.

i've got a new billet aluminum cam seal (with 3 o-rings), new vtec solenoid valve gasket/filter, and new vtec spool solenoid gasket. tha dang thing still leaks.
it looks, though, that tha groove area for the gasket of the vtec spool solenoid is very deep. i'll have tha entire thing machined down. it seems tha gaskets from Honda (and Acura) are smaller than they used to be. i noticed tha vtec spool solenoid, now sold, no longer have the slit for tha circular filter.
this reminds me of when i recently bought my outlet water spout, for my water line, it no longer had tha bleeder valve on it. weird.

Well it fit. How many uses can that screen have? This will be like the fourth time I will have to pull it. Does that grey permatex work if used sparingly? Don't know what else to do, and I don't feel like dropping another $25.00 on a stupid gasket...

What plug are you referring to? The sucky thing is that with all the **** on this engine (thank you japan)... and the location its hard to see where its leaking from. That and its such a slow leak its not like its jumping out at me saying I'm leaking here!!!

hi
i have fixed the problem
- -you need to change complete VTEC SOLENID ABOUT 70-80$
but only buy the OEM PART
THATS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE LEAK
