Man, I gotta tell you. I am a huge fan of this build. I think your best so far haha. It makes me look at red civic in a whole new way now. Makes me kick myself for passing up so many good deals on red cars haha. As I was on my way out of the honda scene this car pulled me back in and made me realize there is still hope for good builds out there and maybe a reason to keep trying. Great job man.

Thanks for the compliment sir! There is something cool about this car even if its not as "crazy" as my last two big builds. I can say this build is as in depth or more than my ITR. I always liked the green coupe, especially on bronze wheels. Id like to get this thing out to a serious meet in CA one day (not even sure which ones are top notch anymore? Eibach? Nisei? Wekfest? Norm Reeves?)

to be honest I would say take it somewhere where people will truly appreciate the car and understand what it is. I would say the only events where that will happen is Eibach (must be at a vendor booth of some sort) or Joeys Chronicles meet. That is where most real honda enthusiasts still go.

Installed Speedfactory detent springs in my transmission and can say they were worth the $20. On of my factory springs was bent (I didnt know) but it seems it can cause the shift engagement to feel inconsistent. The speedfactory ones are stiffer than factory and it does feel more solid when im putting it in gear

I have read and re-read this thread and this car is absolutely amazing! I will definitely be re-visiting this from time to time for inspiration for my red 1992 VX

Couple small updates. Decided it was time to bite the bullet and get some music in the civic. Not going for anything fancy but did want the head unit out of site to keep the interior as oem looking as possible. I went with a Pioneer MVH-S300BT head unit. It is a media player only (no cds) so it has a lot more shallow profile. I was able to mount it in the glove box and run a USB chord to control it from my iPhone. It can also be controlled via bluetooth, but I prefer to keep my phone charged up. I have done some high end SQ stuff and still visit the forum I research on. I heard good things about the Pioneer coaxials I purchased as well for low power applications. They get the job done and I paid $160 shipped for the head unit and speakers. Very happy with the outcome!

I also am trading my 1st gen Toda header for cash and labor. I picked up a Gear-X 4.78 final drive and expect my friend to install later this month. Cant wait to drive it afterwards as this has made a significant improvement on cars Ive done it to previously. Also one shot since I have driven the car all week

Nice! What header are you putting on after the Toda is gone?

Not getting rid of the Toda on the car haha. I had a second one that was a used 1st gen. I posted it up for sale a while back but didnt get any reasonable offers so I used it as trade bait for work lol.

I actually sold the Comptech race header to a friend as well since I put that up for sale and no one was willing to pay a reasonable price for it.

Why the 4.7 over the 4.9? Driveability on the skreets?

Ive had both and this is just my opinion - 4.9 is so short your 1st and 2nd gear are useless unless youre on some super sticky tires. It has its benefit on a track of course. 4.78 is almost 10% shorter than the stock 4.4 and makes a significant difference for most setups

Havent updated in a while simply because I havent had anything to update lol. It goes a lot slower when the car is put together.

All the same, I got my mugen lip, second set of skirts and vision mirrors back from paint. Should be looking good for the upcoming meets

yea I’m contemplating that idea so I can use the OEM ek9 block off or go double din stereo with apple car play/ navigation to find all these damn so cal tracks. You’re really tempting me to hide it though. Love this car.

Thanks! Thats why I did it. Didnt want to lose the minimal/blockoff look but wanted some music for longer drives. It was fairly easy, just have to use that specific head unit (or another that does not take CD's) unless you are cutting a relief in the back of the glove box
