Power window regulator replacement & sticky sunroof
whats up boys, I searched the FAQ and only found info on manual windows (which I should just swap to) I just bought a 95 ex and the day I brought it home the window came off the regulator, I'm assuming. Before I pull the door panel off and investigate does anyone have any advice for me? I shot myself in the foot buying a 95 car with power everything. Not even considering it's a 2500lb civic. Anyways sorry for rambling, the sunroof is also stick. Motor sounds fine but doesn't pop up unless I help it and won't slide back at all, any ideas here? Thanks guys
cheers
Re: Power window regulator replacement & sticky sunroof
A good clean and lubrication of the tracks should solve the sunroof issue, it may/may_not solve the window issue.
The window popping off the track is not a manual/power window thing, it's a design/wear item thing. So the same solutions works for both, only how you move the window is different.
I dealt with it for almost a year before I had enough and tried enough things to resolve the problem.
Replaced the window channel and had zero issues since. (that was 10 years ago) The first time my second civic did it, I replaced the part right away.
Nothing wrong with the 93-95 EX, I had a '93 for many years, when I sold it (<1year ago) everything worked (and ran) like it did from the factory.
It's never going to be a light as the less equipped versions, but it's also not going to be as manual as them either.
Re: Power window regulator replacement & sticky sunroof
Thanks for the info and insight guys, I'm going to try and clean/lube the sunroof. As for the window I think I'll pull the panel off and see if I can get the window back in the Chanel properly, and also give it a clean/lube. If I still have issues I'll replace the whole assembly. Looks the the motor/regulator/and chanels come all together.
