Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
Current EK cost/mi is $0.172
Data Includes: Purchase price, insurance, tags, title transfer, maintenance, and gasoline.
Data from: 104,000 miles to 215,000 miles
She's getting old, though. The salt these last 100,000 miles has not been kind.
Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
Picking up this cute little honey tonight, assuming the dude's title comes in the mail (******* MD). Apparently, in MD, if you register a car, the MVA mails you your title and it takes up to two weeks to receive (they also give you a temp title/reg so you can drive the car). The dude (apparently) bought the car as a swap project, but decided not to go through with it. So his loss is my gain. 98 DX Hatch, PS, AC, stock as **** (besides SI wheels). It comes with a full set of steelies with brand new tires. And it looks like the quarter panel rust should be easily fixed. It hasn't rusted all the way through, which is awesome. Hopefully all works out and this baby is in my driveway by tonight.

There's your hatch! Good job man!
Does that mean you are shipping the 'Lude?
Show me how you fix the rust, eh?
Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
As you can see, the passenger side looks like it can be easily repaired since it's not through the paint yet. I can probably tape it off, sand it down and repaint. I think AutoZone sells touch up paint that can be matched to OEM colors. I figure I'll try that out. I'm not going for show car appearance, just keeping the inevitable cancer at bay! The driver side might be a little more difficult since it's rusted almost all the way through. Either way, it'll look better than it does now haha

Still waiting on this guy with the EK hatch to receive his new title. Another reason why I hate MD. You register and title the car, and they take their sweet time sending you the title. Hopefully we can set up the sale for this weekend! Can't wait to be back in a Civic, and to unload this Prelude.

Im trying! I just spoke with the guy; the title still hasn’t come in. I want the damn car, and he suggested letting me have it before the title comes in, but I don’t know if I trust that. I would be bringing the car home on bogus tags most likely, which is bad enough with the title. Without the title, I’d end up in jail haha
Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
Sooo, guess who has a cute little EK hatch in his driveway? Dude called me Saturday afternoon saying that the title had come in. We made our way up towards Baltimore yesterday morning in the ******* snow. But hey, the things we do for our Hondas! Everything on the car checked out, although there was more rust (bubbles) on the car than he originally said, and the clear is peeling in spots on the roof. That's not a huge deal; I've just got some work ahead of me. He bought this car in December, put 150 miles on it and parked it. The guy he bought it from was the original owner who bought it back in 97 with 14 miles on it. Currently has 125k miles on it, super clean interior. Manual everything haha, but does has PS and AC. We made the 90+ mile trip back home without an issue! My plan is to transfer the tags from the Prelude and get everything on the Prelude ironed out and post that bitch for sale. I think I'm going to be MUCH happier in the Hatch. Stay tuned, boys and girls. There will be a build thread coming soon! Now all our cars are silver! That was not done on purpose haha
Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
I've been spending hours upon hours researching parts and compiling my build list... but then I pull back on the reins and tell myself, "Dude, you haven't even gotten under the car to take inventory on what might need to be repaired." This weekend (hopefully) I'll get the car in the air and check out her undercarriage (teehee), change the oil and filter, fuel filter, swap the plugs and wires, etc. Figure out where the hole is in the front left tire. Might need to take a trip to the used tire place! I also keep forgetting that I still have a Prelude in the driveway that needs a new pan gasket and the exhaust welded, not to mention the ever-present EGR issue. I should have that all taken care of by the end of the week/weekend. I'm excited to get started! The wife even said, "I'm actually excited to see where this hatch ends up as you mod it." Sounds to me like management has approved a build haha
Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
I'm slowly accumulating parts for the Hatch while I wait for the weather to break! I picked up a new cluster (with a tach), front and rear lips, a BNIB set of front Duralast rotors and ceramic pads for 50% below retail, and I'm picking up a rear bumper from a guy this weekend. I'll probably swap the clusters this weekend, if I feel like it.
I've been in contact with the guy I bought the car from about the Rota Slips he originally mentioned would be on the car when I bought it... (he couldn't find the lock for the lug nuts so the car came with SI's). He said, as soon as he gets a lock, then we could make a trade. Good, I didn't really want to have to strip and refinish the SI's anyways!

Re: Tell Us What You Did To Your EG/EK/Del Sol Today
The "right now" plan is to make it a clean daily. The "much later" plan consists of a track/street car. Nothing crazy, just a simple build that focuses on handling instead of all-out power. I've already got a fast straight-line car haha. I just want something that if I'm on the road course and end up in the dirt (or god forbid the wall), it's not going to break me to fix it.
