Most 15" wheels will clear, even OE 15" steel. There are, of course, exceptions.

Inner diameter is the deciding factor. I personally had to change out my 15 inch RPF1s after this upgrade.

I have LS Meshes for rain & storage and I use TR Motorsports 15 inch wheels for dry driving without problems.

I'm also using Enkei RPF1s (15x7 ET35) either with or without 10mm spacers, but I ground down the brackets and calipers with an angle grinder with a flap disc to get clearance as the RPF1's step down near the spokes. The clearance is small enough, that when I get the wheels balanced, I have to make sure that the weights aren't taped/placed near the spokes as they can get knocked off. Even with careful grinding, the sliding pins almost poke thru where the grinding is done. The RPF1's are really light, but work is probably needed to use them. - Jim

Hah, when I said there were exceptions RPF1s were specifically what I was talking about. There are others that have issues also, but RPF1s are well known for having limited clearance on a lot of setups.

So can someone refresh my memory.. I have the 4x114.3 itr setup but used prelude calipers
I forget if they're the same as the 5bolt, still 280mm..?

if so that is another option..prelude claps and pads and mini rotor maybe? Might have to try this on the sedan one day

Hello,
I am collecting as much info as possible to try to improve the reduced braking capability of my Honda, I already know a lot but, two key questions remain unanswered.
1. First one I already asked on a thread I started, on this forum, few days ago but, maybe this thread is the right place to put it.
Can anyone tell me if I can use this Mini / ITR set-up on the front brakes of my Honda del Sol 1.6l 160HP from 1997?
Standard front brakes are 262mm.
2. Two different set-ups gather some consensus in terms of good final result but I was not able to find discussion/ technical comparison in between the two:
A. Mini rotors (280mmx22mm) / ITR calipers (23T) / TSX pads
B. MG Rotors (282mmX25mm) / MG ZS 180 calipers / DS2500 pads
Anyone has enough knowledge to comments on the technical merits of version A vs B?

Your help will be highly appreciated.
Kind regards .... JOliveira

I haven't used any of these other rotors, but I have the 4x114.3 .. used the brakes that came with it for a bit. Then went to the 11" prelude. Was so easy. Ordered a kit for 96 prelude VTEC. Installed. Needed 2 spacer washers to center caliper (25t bracket would solve). Done. Works great. Dunno what options there are for 5bolt tho. Just thought I'd add details. Although this is for 4x100? Would be nice upgrade without having to get ITR knuckles !

Btw to last post.. afaik 23t bracket for 23mm rotor. 25t for 25mm rotor. That might be a reason to pick rotor a vs rotor b

Oh, and also - yes, you should be able to use it in your sol fine. Only civics that can't use it are the ones that came with smaller brakes (rear drums)

si, sol, ex, should be all good

lx dx etc will, have to swap integra or si knuckles and spindles.

Thank you for the information, one more positive indication but again not 100% sure, looks like no one is sure that I will be able install the ITR / Mini set-up directly on the del Sol without any mechanical rework or need to add spacers behind the calipers to align the calipers to the center of rotors.

If the Sol has the same knuckles as si/teg (which it does) then it's fine.
the caliper spacing is only needed when using a 23mm rotor with a 25t(25mm) bracket.

perhaps I shouldn't have said "should"

Is anyone upgrading the master cylinder with this brake setup?

I haven't upgraded mine. The stock master cylinder was fine with the itr 4x114.3 brakes, now with the prelude ones it still feels mostly fine, though I haven't really had a chance to get on the brakes. I am planning on going 1" eventually tho

I've read a lot of "mushy" brake pedals. I know that has to do with bleeding correctly but I also wondered if an upgraded MC might be a good idea.

Not a bad idea “while you’re in there.” You’ll probably end up doing it anyways, and it gives you an opportunity to pull the whole system dry and have nothing but Brad new fluid touch you nice fresh calipers.

Call me a shitty searcher but I’m not having much luck finding an “upgrade” MC for a Integra or similar.

Apparently all 98+ Integras had ITR 1” MCs. So I’m good

Yes the 98specR has a 1" master cylinder, and that is the usual upgrade. I believe k tuned makes a 1" aftermarket as well (I'm pretty sure that was the brand, thought I saw it on jhp) . I think blox makes one TOO?

maybe the k tuned thing was a mc brace to prevent firewall flexing? If not, I saw one of those too..

My 11" prelude brakes (on 4x114.3 ITR knuckles) feel pretty good. I was planning a 1" MC anyway but I would say pedal feel is improved over the stock, and also, since I went to 11" from the ITR stock 4x114.3 brakes it has improved)

I installed SS lines in place of the rubber lines also when I installed the prelude brakes. PowerStop z26 kit for 96 lude vtec, so far so good - had to use washers to align the caliper because I got the wrong bracket but the calipers were nicely reman'd Honda ones, powder coated red. Carbon ceramic pads, carbon infused rotors, slotted and crossed, pads are good for 1500f apparently. $300 us for the kit.

so far they have great bite, good pedal feel.. I haven't even come close to maxing them out yet.

Now if I could use this kit or similar on my sedan w/out ITR knuckles I definitely would. 96specR brakes are ~260mm, same size as reg teg, kids are ~280mm .. so if these rotors fit 4x100 then you should can be use the prelude calipers too.. !

or redrill the prelude rotors .. now I did have to use spacers and maybe the ITR brackets would fix that (23t vs 25t) but I was able to space mine out perfectly with spacer washers (specifically for spacing, machined so flat they stick together).

Yup. Didn’t realize you were working on an Integra.

This is awesome, thanks for the info! I'm going to do this to the front of my em1, is there an equivalent upgrade for the rear?

EP3 rotors and calipers. You have to swap the calipers right to left so the brackets are oriented correctly, and move the cable brackets over from your stock ones. Unfortunately that means that the bleeders will point the wrong way and you will have to bleed them off of the car. Alternatively, you can get a set of CTR/ITR calipers (used from hmotorsonline are currently at $300/pair) and bolt them on with the EP3 rotors and have the 10.2” rears with no fuss at all. I would recommend the latter.

More interesting knowledge I wish I knew all this before doing 4x114.3 lol ! On well half the reason I did it was that I had a nice set of wheels in that size

Calipers and carriers, or just Calipers?
