No, it's been all good. The only "hangup" with the harness was matching up/tracking down some of the leads it came with that were odd colors and not on the instructions.

Both, there's a spare long block waiting that will be built on the side while other things on the car are done... no real downtime when the time to swap comes.

I can't believe it's been almost 2 months. I've been working on another build in the shop and finally came into today start the tear in on the car for a few changes/upgrades.
As it sat:
First up is the upgrade on the wastegate in preparation for the high boost tuning. I swapped the stock Turbonetics gate out in favor of the Tial MV-I 2.5.
Checked on the turbo, it's in great shape...especially considering this car gets beat on constantly.
I wanted to change the FMIC/hotside pipe orientation as well. Before, I just adapted and made a new hotside charge pipe to work with the existing intercooler when the manifold design/layout changed. It worked well, but I feel like I can make it work even better. So...

Nice! I'm doing a very similar build but with a stock EM1. Similar goal as well. I purchased 90% of everything through go autoworks so I should be set! , except for the Turbo (Precision 5862). I really wish I would have went with something smaller now for a better power band.

Greg is there a reason this customer opted for a internal wastegate setup over a traditional external setup? Nice work as always! Will be contacting you soon for black Friday

Looking forward to more updates!
Bless you, thanks for that. The 5862 sizing is ok IMO (like most) in certain scenarios. For some, its a fantastic all around fit. If you ever build the block or head and bump the CR or displacement then it would obviously start to work a bit better in the midrange. You can always change the turbo for something that will drop in its place and give you what you want. There are certain groups that love the 5862 if you ever decided to sell /change the turbocharger.

It was something new and different. The housing combination at the time was recently released by Turbonetics. One was sent here to test that I had on a personal car that worked out well. I don't recall exactly how it went (this build has been going for a few years) down, but we ended up agreeing to not do a "run of the mill" setup and try one of these on his that would definitely see some abuse. I like the IWG style setups (outside of the physical bulkiness of the housings, but the large housings are meant to flow so it is what it is there). The issue we ran into is that it would start to run off w/ the boost up top. This is what led me to researching more into the IWG and changing to the Tial gate and solenoid to hopefully correct that.
