The "all types of action" Turbo Civic build...11 sec Stock B16 + some...
Hello H-T. Forgive me in advance, it's been a while since I've attempted to do one of these.
The Car: 92-95 Civic Coupe
The Motor: Currently a 100% internally stock B16 w/ unknown mileage
The purpose: Fun street car, roll race car, "street class" drag car.
Original Goal lists:...be competetive, and go 11s on the stock motor (at this point that has been achieved)...on to Goal #2 (to be addressed later in the thread)
A big "kicker" here (which will make sense later) is this car has NEVER been on a trailer. It's driven to and from where ever it goes.
The car belongs to a good customer of ours, Scott. This build has actually been going on for maybe a year and a half now. I thought I'd do a thread on it as it's something a little different, and may answer a lot of basic inquires that pop up in the forums. Scott brought the car in, sat down, and we went over the goals; both immediate and long term. The car was to be and has been handled in phases more or less. He does his research, homework, asks questions, listens and gets good results...what more can you ask for there. The forced induction/fabrication/fueling/parrts delivery was to be handled here. The suspension and whatever else that can be bolted on, or walked through was to be done by him.
So here we go: When he picked the car up, the swap was already done. It as most had it's "short comings " and short cuts taken, but nothing that couldn't be easily fixed/addressed.
(a few parts were picked up while it was NA that would work throughout the build process...excluding the air intake)
(I just realized how long this build has been going on while looking for photos, the Na pic is early 2015). Sept 2015 the tear down began.
Fueling: The car was going to be run on E85 so we went with:
-Grams 1000cc injectors +320lph in tank pump
-6AN fuel feed kit from tank to rail w/ inline Aeromotice filter
-Aeromotive regulator w/ Skunk2 composite rail
-tuned on Hondata S300 V3
This would easily handle what would be thrown at it.
The kit/bay layout was designed specifically for the build as well. We went with (what was at the time) the new T4 internal gate Turbonetics turbine housing which had been something we had been testing. The turbo is our BB T-GA 6157 turbo option. This is a unit that I knew would deliver the needed power & curve while still being able to make the future goal further down the road. A mini ram was built to accomodate it, along w/ the rest of the turbo kit.

The car was street tuned. It later went to a Monster Roll Event (roll race), was the only FWD car there, and won the event.
Some things were learned, some things needed to be addressed (trans and exhaust).
The turbo setup was run back through an exhaust that came on the car originally; which was 2.5" "online auction" special-ish. The turbo was much happier when run as open downpipe. The trans that came in it also had a damaged rear mount, so it to was addressed by sourcing a GSR trans and installing a Quaife LSD. While addressing the exhaust, the decision was made to just run an up pipe. The turbine outlet was 3.5" so to help gain adequite clearance, we opted to go a different route on the manifold as well so that I could shift it over.

The boost was dialed in more and the car went to it's first drag event last Nov, and made its first of several 11.9 passes (that goal met... 11.9@116mph)
(I see that vid link isn't working, will address that)
A little ign breakup was becoming consistent so next up was to swap the car over to COP and also get some more suspension work tied in.
Added:
-Hondata COP kit
-Skunk2 spherical front LCAs
-Skunk2 Rear LCAs
(already in place not noted earlier was the Skunk2 Pro Cs and Full Race Pro Street bar)
I think we are caught up to now (2 years covered cliff note style). The car had something come apart in the harness, so the ideal solution was to replace it at this point being that it had already been chopped and screwed multiple times. A Wireworx harness was ordered. We also needed to get better boost control on the internal gate up top, so I contacted Tial and that is now being worked in for the next visit coming up!

Great to see other people using B16 power plants. I did a build on a friends B16 Stock block and valves, Has The go-autoworks T3 top mount running the turbonetics 6162 .63A/R exhaust housing. Made 410whp@16psi , havent had a chance to take it to the track but should be quick.

forgot you could multi quote...
Thanks man, hope all is well.
It's a task to do, but I'll try to keep this one up to date and going w/ info.
thanks man
I made the can specifically for him/this setup.

Yes, it's been on E85 the whole time with the same fuel system listed.

Glad to see people still messing with stock B16's. I went 11.8's on one back in early 2000's on pump gas and a drag kit and a FMU lol. Those motors will take quite a bit of abuse!

FTW
300whp now a days can be made so easily w/ very little "stress" on the motor.

Woot woot.
No starting issues or electrical gremlins at all since switching over to the wireworx harness?
