Suggestions Needed: What turbo for a B16 build?
Mind that the BW turbo i posted its not too big.
Its 52mm "billet" inducer but with 60mm turbine wheel. Get a small .63 turbine housing and bam good to go.
I would deffinately use this setup on a b16.
Other than that the TD05H-152G6-12T (evo X turbo) im using has 49/56 turbibe wheel and 47/68 compressor wheel.
With a small bump in compressor wheel size with a billet unit like a billet version of the 18G youll have 50mm compressor / 49mm turbine wheel.
Mind this turbo has 12 cm^2 twin scroll housing. Thats perfect for higher rpm.
That turbo will hit around 400whp and will make 1 psi on 2200rpm on B16.

I was looking at the precision 5431e and the 5731
Thank you, any other suggestions, once again I'm running 9:1 pistons 81.5mm, if I have to I'll buy that turbo but is there any cheaper ones? I'd rather not spend 900 if I don't have to. Just wondering if anyone else has suggestions.

If you want a cheap turbo that will spool quickly, get an 8 blade holset hx35. Change the manifold choice and consider meth injection, and you'll have pretty sleek setup
You want "cheap", head to eBay, or risk a used quality unit, and hope the size is the correct one.
WHP Goal: 400-450Whp
Engine: B16A bored to 81.5mm with eagle rods, 9:1 wiseco pistons, stock gsr head
Fuel:93 octane
1994 civic coupe, fully gutted out.
Will be doing some drag racing, but mostly drive around my city on the street in the country only on super nice days.
Max RPM: I would imagine safely it would be at 9000rpm
Price for a turbo $900
Honestly, What do you guys think about this?

I heard they made better turbos now. Was always told they were one of the best

Stop guessing. Start learning some flow rates. Those others almost max out at the very poet levels you want with using race fuel... (Not even E85)

from what I have seen there larger turbos work well in the drag racing scene "big power" for the rest of us that want reliability and responsiveness they leave much to be desired. keep it simple and stick to garrett IMO.
heck just buy a turbo from shodan may not be the cheapest option but at least you will be happy with the result...something you wont be able to find on your own unless you really understand various aspects of the turbo charger.
Heres some numbers from a fellow user a few users back that tested a few turbos trying to accomplish what you are, please note there was a cam upgrade between the garrett and Turbonetics Turbos

The Borg Warner S252 SX-E and S257 SX-E offer great value and you can order it with a variety of housings from AGP including 0.48 and 0.63 T3 versions
They come in just under $900 with housing and you getting a heavy duty reliable unit with new generation aerodynamics

$900 would have you covered with a variety, and would get you into some newer tech. Billet journal bearing Turbonetics (T-GA) options (5454) , Garret based billet STC options (Hunter), PTE if you want PTE (actually entry level PTE would be much less...about $100 less)
