Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
I haven't gotten a lot accomplished either. Got a little bit of audio / interior stuff reassembled and upgraded.
And then I did some mockup so that I can get some stainless hardware ordered,
And then some other things showed up.
I'm about ready to send the whole thing off to the machine shop and builder to get the bottom end cleaned and assembled. The trans should be leaving soon to be gone through by a very OCD trans guy, and then I'll be one step closer to getting this dumb motor in my car.

trying to decide on a set of wheels for this car is proving to be difficult, my heart is wanting something legit but my brain is telling me to get something cheap since the car sits outside

This thread has been a great inspiration over the years as I have followed it since the start!
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
Well...I got bored on Saturday and felt like getting a sunburn, so this happened.
Pictured above is a Rywire tuck radiator. It's the smaller offering because the big one wasn't available when this one was purchased. If need be, i'll upgrade to the taller one, but it would require a little cutting and welding on the core support which I didn't want to do. The Rywire radiators only come with 2 brackets, so 4 new ones were bent up for me. A washer was welded to the back side to make it a bit thicker at the end of the mounting tabs. We used silicone and billet mounts to help isolate from vibration, and I spent way too much on bolts to put it all together, because ARP stainless is required for all things not OEM, right?!? Anywho...baby steps.
Yeah...there is still a motor in it because I've been mopey and lazy; however, now that it is on stands, I am going to start disconnecting systems. The shifter assembly is coming out this weekend, and i'll probably break loose the fuel line and pump the tank dry. As soon as it's ready to pull i'm gonna call in the picker, and yank that little bastard out. #finallyfeelingmotivated

This little guy looks strange not being in the car any longer, but something different needs to take it's place. If you local guys need some D16 (not sure if the B is the same) shift rods/linkages with relatively fresh (dirty) Energy Suspension bushings, let me know. The shifter is already spoken for.

Got PayPal, apparently I'm too old to understand what a Venmo is, BAHA.
On a completely separate and unrelated note, this happened yesterday, and if anyone is annoyed with me posting EVERY little update, just let me know, i'll dial it back. I'm just excited that things are happening. I've been collecting parts for almost 2 years, so...I'm like a child on Christmas.

I'm just lazy actually. Right now I'm trying to clean out the parts storage area in my living room because the new couch is on the way, so...if it can get mounted, it's getting mounted.

Hot weather? I forced myself to replace my sisters engine harness in her integra. Good thing I did because it fixed other issues. Wasn't really a pain but I had to work through some rainy weather (New Orleans, La gots a tropical storm brewing) and now I gotta work through this summer to replace my bushings on my sedan. I had put it off earlier this yr to finish up on the same integra.

edit: audio system looks dope af though.
It can get a bit warm out here, but nothing like AZ where I grew up, so I don't mind.
Thanks, audio is what I do for a living, so it's nice to actually have something in my car that is cool and different, even if it doesn't run.

LOL, will be running soon I'm sure.
Gotta find time to go back to wrench a part for those type s heads. I wanted to take the cams only but I found you have to take the head off in order to slide the cams out the side. Am I right in my thought process?

Well you've gotta pull at least everything off the front, plus pull the rockers and all that, so you're better off just popping the belt off and undoing the head studs.

Thanks man. It's been a labor of love that's for sure. I agree on the bionic leg thing. I've seen a ton of K swaps with like race shifters and even the no cut like this one, without a center console, or with huge holes cut, and it's just not my cup of tea. Luckily the EL console is taller than the civic console. The EK Shift Plate needed to be trimmed and the mounts needed to be bent a bit to get it to fit, and I need to pul a little foam around the edge to put some pressure against the console, but over all I'm happy with the part. This way...the only people that will really know are the ones that know what a Civic should be, and realize that something isn't right. It's like...wait...what's that down there?!?
Re: ** The offical 96-00 civic 4dr thread ** PART 3
Was reading someone else build where he did a radiator tuck AND the condenser tuck. He used a honda city condenser. This will be interesting research this to see if the ac lines match up.
