Default S300 Nitrous input help

99 Honda Civic hx converted to obd1 with p28 (obd2a-obd1) and s300v2
B18c engine swap
550cc injectors
255 pump

Using a 75 dry shot plumbed to the intake pipe. Single relay and single solenoid setup.

I wired the relay and switch according to the wiring diagram per hondata but I can not get the nitrous the activate after arming.

Output side: I tested the output via Smanager and the solenoid clicks when the output is tested. Nitrous discharges as it should.

Input side: When I flip the toggle switch to arm the nitrous system, I can see the psp switch on and off in hondata along with N1arm. When I invert the input I can see N1arm switch on/off.

When I invert the output the solenoid clicks to open and stays open. It seems like the wiring is right. I just don't understand why It's not activating the solenoid.

What am I doing wrong? I tried the default settings too and nothing. The input switch is grounding like the instructions say to do.

In your settings, are your pressure and vacuum units set to absolute or atmospheric? Your load conditions seem suspect to me there, and are the only thing you haven't really tested. I would set the max to a number just higher than you highest load column and set the minimum to your third highest column value. Then try again.

My units are setup to represent atmospheric.

I was just trying to set those parameters to activate low (with nitrous off) where the solenoid would click and my timing and fuel map would change to see if it would work. I have a feeling the conditions are the problem as well but I can't seem to get the load parameter met. I have put it on PSI, Mbar, Inches. I'm not turbo or in boost so I figured that putting it on inches and 30" vacuum as the min. so that it clicks over the the sub map easy.

I'll play with it again today and see if I can get it to work. Thanks for the suggestions!

Here, I just created a new cal and set it up kind of like yours.

Try something like this:

I don't have access to an S300 car to try it on right now, but it seems like this is the only parameter you haven't been able to meet yet.

What does the data say about it? have you looked at a dataset to see if you are meeting your conditions? What are the values of all of these parameters at the points where you want the nitrous to work?

Again, have you looked at a datalog to see if you are meeting all of your conditions? Or are you just throwing darts at it? You have the tools to figure it out.

Sorry I didnt update yesterday but I got it figured out. I had to invert the input. I thought I tried that before but maybe I have the conditions wrong for load.

Nitrous kicked in nice but head gasket didn't like it after a few pulls haha.

did you add fuel before doing the first hit? I used a 125 single fogger wet shot and it needed more fuel after the first hit. I saw AFR's go in the high 12's, let off immediately, added fuel in the nitrous tables and made another hit successfully. also make sure you have 1 degree per 25hp shot pulled out of your nitrous ignition table. 75shot would be 3 degrees pulled out.

Yes the fuel and ignition sub tables were setup for Nitrous. I started with 3 degrees. The 1 degree/ 25 shot is a starting point and very conservative in my opinion. I like my fuel at 11.5 with nitrous. Just have to keep the bottle pressure consistent or it will change on you.

I swapped the gasket out already and got the car back together. All I could find was felpro b/c the dealer didn't have any in stock. Might order OEM and swap it out b/c It's leaking from the front left corner still. I tq the ARP head studs to 70 ft lbs.

everything sounds good from what you said. weird that the gasket popped. what fuel are you using? bottle pressure will stay consistent at 950psi.

Yeah it was a relatively new head gasket too. Something had to happen that it didn't like or maybe just didn't tq it down good enough before. I only went to 65 ft lbs before. I'm at 70. I'm going to re torque the head again and see if I can get the small leak to stop. Everything else is fine. Just that leak.

I'm on 93 octane.

Glad you found the issue with the cal.

ARP says 80 ft-lbs. Not sure why you would use anything else.

Holy crap *****!!! My memory is going bad! Probably why it's leaking on that corner..... I'm going to tq them down to 80 tonight. Hopefully I don't have to redo the gasket..... Talk about a brain fart... Thanks for the heads up on that.
