So in this picture its just a generic random cluster i found online...but where u see the circle at...since i had my hatch(93 Civic CX) ive always wondered why mine has a green arrow pointing up...not once has it ever came on. Now i qwant to know if anyone here knows exactly its function or what i can do to get it to work

 

I'd imagine by your username you and cluster discription you have a Civic VX. That green arrow is your "shift up" light. To get it to work you'll have to provide us with a lot more information about your car, any mods, CELs, maintence, etc.

Or you might not have a VX and someone just put a gauge cluster from a VX into your CX or DX.

Your post is the perfect example of why this information is required when starting a thread.

Its a CX...no CELs, full 2 3/4 exhaust, headers, LS swap, on neptune...Shift Up??? like a shifter light?...i maintain it at its regular intervals...oil change, spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor button, PCV valve and all that at their regular intervals

 

There you go.

The cluster you have is for a VX which has "lean burn" and a "shift up" light for best fuel economy. Your CX does not. Someone put a VX cluster in your car so that it would have a tachometer.

And even if you still had a VX, with those mods, the light wouldn't work.

Ohhhhh!!! so there's no way i can get that to function in place of my shift indicator light off of my aftermarket tach?

Like the Civic VX, the Civic CX 5-speed with the D15b8 engine also uses the "shift up" light in the gauge cluster.

 

That's all i needed am gonna try to wire it up tonight...ill post pics and all if i get it done successfully...thanks for all u guys help
