I'm having a problem with my passenger window. They are power windows and when I roll the window up before it gets to the top of the window jam the glass starts to jump and makes a popping noise. At that time the glass seems to feel like it has play in the up and down direction. I have to push the glass up in to the top of the window then hit the window switch and the glass will moved up to the correct location and stay there.
Does this sound like a regulator problem or something to do with the tracks? I found this thread and a it's similar to my problem but nobody ever said what parts they replaced to fix the problem. I will post a video in a few. I'm hoping it's just a regulator problem and maybe lubing the tracks?
I did remove the door card to inspect things but it is hard to really see inside when the glass is in the up position. I didn't inspect the center rivet though. I did notice that the glass does move slow on the way up and it wasn't lining up perfect before this problem started. I think the glass would drop a hair over time as well b/c I could hear air coming in and I would have to hit the window switch to close it all the sway.
i have had a similar problem with actually every 96-00 civic ive ever had seems there is a trend with window problems on the ej model civics mine the front of the window would generally fall to the bottom of the track and id have to take of the door panel and reset and re screw the track down perhaps the threads on the tracks on this model of civic doesnt quite have the same dexterity as later or newer model civics? and it only happens to me with power windows
Problem was the window regulator. The rivet was bad when I removed it. Swapped in new regulator and problem is resolved. The job took about 30 minutes. Thanks for the help.
