When's the last time you have done any regular maintenance to the engine?
What all was done?
Is the Check Engine Light lit up on your dash?

changed plugs, cleaned fast idle, new cap and rotor, cleaned with carb cleaner. about 2 months ago. one cold early morning i got on it to get on the freeway and me check engine light came on, so 16 flashes, fuel injectors. took it home reset, haz fuse, and never came back. been two weeks. been getting poor gas millage. use to do 100 mph no problem...calif. I80 flow of traffic! now its slow to get to 85. fuel injectors going bad? thx.
up date....while going home from work (50 miles) used 1/4 tank of gas!!! AND noticed the tail pipe was sooty black!! what controls the fuel mixture? so, to work and back i used 1/2 tank of gas! seems to be getting worst. where do i start replacing parts? thanks.
You probably have an injector that is clogged and stuck open causing you to use loads of gas. Most likely causing a misfire too, which would explain the loss of power. It is probably flooding the cylinder since it can't shut all the way. Is it the DPFI injectors? If so, now would be a great time to move onto MPFI.
thx, Bro.will go thru injectors. i Have the PGM-FI dual point. but am willing to switch over to the MPFI. whats required to do the change? dont mind spending the $ for my main commuter. great and loyal Hooptie! thanks again.will up date.
Intake manifold (with injectors and throttle body)
D16A6 MPFI Distributor
ECU
Then it is just 4 additional wires. It's very simple, in the FAQ section. Will run you a couple hundred bucks most likely.

for now. is there any way to check injectors when i remove to inspect them. how much voltage to actuate the solenoid, do they come apart, ohms? best place to get new ones? I'm doing this because I'm in the middle of a 67 Chevelle project.
thx. and Merry Christmas!

Not really sure on how to test them. You can google how to clean them though. It's pretty intensive. I would just buy new ones.
Your O2 probably should have been faulting like crazy.
I'm going to guess that it might be your problem - they get old and lazy.
Just enough to keeping working without throwing a fault and barely working enough to run properly.

thx 4deEF, never got a fault code, had it replaced for smog a year ago. but probably an after market crap! are there two? does that control fuel mixture? will try that too. exhaust always smelt rich!
Hey, thanks Guys! found the problem! i Pulled 1 of two fuel injectors and noticed the o-rings were all stretched out! wtf. bought a o-ring kit from OReily's about 6 months ago. cost about $70 bucks. i put the old ones in and wallah! gas save again! does anyone know exact size of these so i can get only the 2 rings per injector only maybe in viton? thanks for all your advice and experience.
You want just the O-ring? Why not measure it. Or you can try and find it online.

020-023 I believe are O-rings. Don't know which you need.
