I have 99 EK DX civic HB that Im swapping a JDM b18C [hopefully] I bought a bare long block for dirt cheap considering it came with eagle rods JE pistons and jackson pulley. ANYWAYS so ive looked at like 100 swap pages on like 10 different websites but there are a few questions that I have that werent even touched on any of the other threads.

1. im going from A/T to M/T, if I wanted cruise control would I have to use the computer and actuator from a GSR or as long as the cable reaches would it matter?

2. the block didnt come with "main caps" besides alignboring is there any way around it??? ie an aftermarket part thats not 400+ dollars???

3. since the EK9 is ob2 what do i use for a wiring harness??? can I stay within a EK civic harness and just find one with VTEC or do I need to get a GSR harness??? and I plan on staying OB2 so pls dont say just get a 2 to 1 harness.

if there are posts about this that I missed im very sry, this will be my first swap and im a bit ignorant to all of this so any help would be really appreciated not looking for the whole "research" posts cuz trust me I have! just havent had any luck thusfar :/

 

the only question i can answer is number 3. you can use either a 99-00 ex harness or 99-00 si harness..because i've just got done with this swap last week..

 

Buy B18C Or B18C1 OEM Main Caps/Gridle &Just Platic Gauge the Crank wit New Caps And Get Sizes u Need....Like dude Said Get a OBD2B Vtec Engine Harness And Pin ur Ecu Plugs...And just use your oem Cruise...if cable doesnt Work Get Gsr one..

 

would u recommend buying new from manufacturer or buying used ones? [caps] and about how much would that be?? thx about the harness info! and as for the cruise, the DX didnt come with a cruise, I was thinking about using an LS 'Teg cruise because thats the tranny im going to use, however a friend noted that the cruise from an LS might not work well because it doesnt have vtec. any ideas???
