Default B20v turbo build, shooting for 600whp on stock sleeves

So whats up guys, i have been getting nothing but hate on me and my brothres horsepower goals but after browsing some crazy *** threads on stock bottom ends, i am worrying less.

We are working with a b20, we ended up with this through our performance shop taking the block they were building for a customer on trade for the owners sleeved b20v that put down 728whp on e98. We got hell of a price on it. I have had nothing but hate from a lot of people locally and around here, partially cause they don't know **** about Honda's and we all know half the people on here are just asses. So i leave it up to you guys, to let me know if me and my brothers horse power goals seem realistic.

I have heard everything on both spectrums that b20 sleeves wont hold boost for anything, and that my brother says he read an entire thread on b20v turbo's that i says swear that it all comes down to how good of a tune you have.

This engine is going in my brothers DA Integra 1990. The engine will be running hondata s300, e85 fuel and precision 1000cc injectors, a stage 2 axle, i forget the name off the top of my head.

the engine will be tuned at a mile high in Denver, by speed image performance, the shop that built the engine.

here is the final quote with turbo info and everything
B20Z1 BLOCK GE BLOCK GAURD CP
PISTONS 9.5:1 COMPRESSION EAGLE
RODS, ARP HEADSTUDS, OEM OIL
PUMP GSR, WATERPUMP TIMING
BELT.B16 HEAD VTEC. ACL Race BEARINGS.

Transmission TYPE-R TRANSMISSION
Turbo Manifold PFAB LOG STYLE TURBO MANIFOLD
Turbo PRECISION 6262E Billet wheel T3/T4
Intercooler FMIC INTERCOOLER CORE
Hondata S300 HONDATA
Jumper harness OBD0-OBD1 JUMPER HARNESS
Clutch kit Competition stage4
Flywheel competition flywheel
ECU P28 ECU OBD1
Wastegate TIAL 38MM WASTEGATE
Blow Off valve TIAL 50MM BLOWOFF VALVE
Downpipe TURBO DOWNPIPE 3"
Piping INTERCOOLER PIPING WITH COUPLERS CLAMPS
Custom 3 inch exhaust with vibrant muffler.

this is the final parts list, that we paid for. We are shooting for maxing it at 600 whp, just to be able to say she can do it, and every day mobbing at 450whp.

According to you guys, does this seem realistic.

Thanks guys in advanced. i don't mind honest advice or criticism just don't be an *** hat in your wording.. lol

thanks again.

I hope this tread is a joke to get youre posts up. It will not last at 600whp nor it wont even make it to 600 whp. Realistic is 400-450 whp out of a turbo b20v and that is aleady pushing it way to far.

I will be pushing the envelope with my 14 CR b20v on e85 and you want to make 600 whp......The sleves are way to tin for that. If you stated out of a b16 block or a d series block then we all know that people have done butt its just unrealistic to even turbo a b20v an dpsuh it to 600whp. Let the guys that are hard turbo guys chime in.

Nice, well i will be sure to post up the video of when it gets tuned and we push it to 600 once. I just got off the phone with the shop owner/ guy who is tuning the car. He isnt worried about the 450 reliable. So neither am I.

i ll be sure t post up the 450 dyno sheet and video and if we do end deciding to push it to 600 once, then i ll post that up too.

dude if you got the $$ and the time, I guess go ahead and give it a shot(regardless of what people say)
I'm not arguing if it will hold or not. But IF it blows,hey... b20 blocks are cheap so no worries there
Honda:
buy
build
blow
start over

First off you will need larger injectors to reach 600whp. Second YES a spot on tune makes reliability that much greater and catastrophic failure less likely, but you can never rule anything out especially in the world of turbocharging. I too think 600whp on stock b20 sleeves is a death wish, hell 600whp on any stock sleeve is playing with fire, even 450whp at that. 500whp is typically the bench mark on stock sleeves in a B16 or B18, then you throw the B20 sleeve setup in there and it drops. Go ahead though, your motivated and optimistic....I would just wanna shoot myself for blowing a motor 2nd time down the track when it could have been prevented. Now Ill wait for a reply about how many articles you have read on boosted b20s.

Exactly. The b20 is a bored ls motor..... I would start looking for a spare block if I were you. Keep in mind you have valuable parts inside that motor, when she blows you could loose pistons, crank, rods, etc.....

ACTUALLY .. aside from everyones neg comments. Its very possible.. There are limits.

b20 sleeves are just as strong as any other b series.. however.. they are **** to crack more because of low rpm / high load detention. With that said, a good tune can help you achieve your goal. Now I've seen a few b20vtec turbos running in the mid to upper 400whp range but thats the highest i've seen w/o sleeving.. its a possible goal but you'll need bigger injectors as stated and a few other things.. you need to do some more research before you actually jump into this..

oh, and go with a borg warner, Look at anyone making power, they want BW turbos.

Evidently, the peace of mind and their time to pull it out and rebuild it (WHEN IT CRATERS) isn't worth the $1000 it will cost to get it sleeved by GE.

Ya'll have fun with all that.

I've heard the "thin sleeve" story many times in the past. Unless I'm missing something vital, I'd think a B20/V built with just pistons and rods should be more than safe around 350 to 400 whp on a really good tune of course,...... but 600? I would want to be anywhere near it "if" it did go nuclear.

No, your correct.. this guy can do it, if it does it really smartly , but i can say it wont last.. the most I've ever seen on stock sleeves is like 435whp and its been running for 2 years now..

however.. 600whp is quite a few more whp..lol
