car wont start, keep blowing ACG fuse
i have a jdm b16a that has been running great until i tried to drive it today. ive never had any issues with my car before this. the ignition cranks but wont start. i keep blowing the ACG fuse. ill replace the fuse and crank the ignition and the fuse blows every time. any suggestions?
sounds like you may have an open circuit or a short to ground. Just get a dvom or test light and do a voltage drop test and trace to find where the circuit has no power
Simple. All component listed below VB in the diagram are protected by fuse 24 (ACG). Unplug those components one at a time and then check whether the fuse is prevented from blowing. If so, you have pinpointed the problem.

ok, now its doing it again. are you saying to remove the fuses from "ELD UNIT to "CRUISE CONTROL UNIT one at a time and see which one prevents ACG from blowing?
last night, my radio fuse was blown and i was driving around all night without any problems. today, i replaced the radio fuse and it has started blowing ACG again. do those have anything in common?

Unplug each component one at time to see which one prevents ACG from blowing.
My radio fuse was blown...
Which specific fuse are you talking about?

fuse 23 - radio
i will try to pull that one and start my car up. my dome light has not worked for quite some time. dome light had a larger wattage, brighter bulb in it and i think that could have caused all this

i pulled fuse 15 (10a) and my car started right up and i was able to drive it around for a couple miles in my neighborhood. So, i assume my problem lies with Fuse 15 (10a) and what it controls? i have a 1995 civic service manual that tells me that Fuse 15 controls:
- integrated control unit
- gauges and indicator lights
- clock
- cruise light/circuit
- right/left back up lights
- shift lock solenoid
- interlock control unit

i just tried to drive my car with fuse 15 plugged in. the second i dropped my emergency brake and the brake indicator light on my gauges went off, my engine dies because ACG fuse is blown again. i unplugged fuse 15, replaced the ACG fuse, started my car and pulled back into my garage
i dont know if this matter or not but in the past as a sort of extra security for when my car is parked outside, i would always remove the ACG fuse
i clearly think my problem lies within my *gauges/indicator lights* or my dome light. my dome light has always been sketchy. sometime it would work and sometime it wouldnt. i had a higher wattage, and brighter polarg bulb in there for the longest time.

So now the thing to do would be unplug only one of the items listed at a time with the exception of the integrated control unit, then put the fuse that is on their circuit back in place, then check to see if ACGS fuse pops.
im thinking the problem lies within the gauges/indicator lights. reason i believe that is, i have been having trouble with my speedometer for quite some time now. sometimes it will work sometimes it wont work. plus, my engine dies immediately when i drop the emergency brake and the brake indicator light shuts off on my gauges. do i have a faulty gauge cluster?
i have fuse 15 plugged in. i unplugged one by one the clock, hazards, and all the plugs on the back of the cluster and my car never died when i took it driving. this is very strange. when i want the car to die so i can pinpoint the problem, it runs perfectly. any other suggestions as to what in the hell is going on?
i just took the car out for about 45 mins. had no problems whatsoever
