To make that numbers u need torque. to make torque u need stroke. so if u want over 250Whp u need to stroke a big 86mm sleeved B motor and put a good set of Toda B cams.
Its my nex year sut up...

you don't need, it's easier with some more stroke,
but rpm and some compression should do it on a 86x89mm

in any case, todaB's are not the cam of choice for 250+whp, their vteclobes are tiny!
more along the lines of S2S3, S2P2, m24, etc.

BUT, why i made this post:p let's not clutter this thread, especially not with misinformation!

All depend on how u want to make your power. Me i just love Toda B cams cause they are not so big that u lost torque to keep some after 8000rpm to make HP.
i use to plan make enuff torque at lower rpm to reach HP wanted.
i plan having 170-180fpt around 7500-7800rpm to make Over 250Whp
Reliable motor Toda B

you really believe those tiny cams carry 170-180 ftlbs to the high 7000's

only engine the toda b peaks it's torque close to where you'll want it is a b16, any bigger and it'll peak sooner and taper off. every big block setup you see in this thread (h/k series) wich reaches 170+ wtq above 7500rpm uses huge cams to do so. few B-series have managed 170-180wtq at 7500+rpm with humongues cams:p

I know I need a new valve cover and need to dyno tune soon, but this is what I go so far.

^^^Nice gains, now throw in some cams, a nice header, exhaust and you'll hit 200whp!

Can't wait for my mugen intake to get here!

Good question.
I have a 4.785 final drive on 15s and 3rd gear runs out too fast. Also, I recently read somewhere that its better to dyno with a gear closest to 1:1 ratio for accuracy.

Red: Shop "magic arm" intake
Blue: 3" Short Ram with Blox Velocity Stack
Yellow: 3" Short Ram with Blox Velocity Stack and Blox Filter

Hondata S300 ECU
B18A1 LS Block
P30 Pistons
Shotpeened LS Rods
ARP Head Studs
ARP Rod Bolts
Brian Crower Dual Valve Springs
Brian Crower Steel Retainers
ITR Valves
Blox Competition Type B Cams
ITR Intake Manifold
ITR Throttlebody
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
RC 370cc Saturated Injectors
NGK Spark Plug Wires
Kidd Racing RMF Narrow Replica Header
3” Exhaust Flex Section
Magnaflow 3” High Flow Cat
Vibrant 3” Resonator
Vibrant 3” Oval Muffler (Black)
Kteller 3” Stainless Steel Exhaust Piping
Acekogyo 3” Intake
Blox Velocity Stack
Blox Air Filter

Of course not quite the numbers I would have hoped for, but I think it did okay considering its in a car that has power steering, a/c, cruise control, abs, and a full exhaust with a cat.

I could probably more easily break the 200whp mark if I got rid of the cat, p/s, and a/c, but I don't really care that much, so I'll keep them.

^^ I would think maybe your using maybe a bit to big of an exhaust? I bet you'd dyno higher on a 2.5" catback and have much better backpressure. Just a thought.

Its my nex year sut up...
i made exactly 250 with my set up and its only 85mm x 89mm on 91 octane with 11.7:1 compression. and im using pro2's with alaniz square ported head. and that was on a break in tune on 0 degree cam timing and 8200rpm. next tuning session is 110 octane with new custom made intake mani and dtr side exit header instead of hytech and going to 9000rpm. im hoping for 260whp+

I got my setup all done and dynod finally. It needs more tuning, crank case breathers and a couple other little things.

h23a1 sleeved block
f22 95mm crank
GRP h23 rods
Arias h22 pistons (11.8:1)
Full race port/polish (Performance Porting)
Supertech valvetrain
Crower 3 cams (soon to be S2P2's)
Custom ported JDM 'double stack' intake manifold
Erick racing side-exit header.
Walbro 255lhp
DSM 450's
E85

@ 5500ft in elevation it made 226whp 156wtq.

I'll be up at the shop that tuned it today. I'll see if i can get a dyno graph to post up. Elevation KILLS all motor cars, but i'm still doin it. Hoping with more tuning, breathers, and s2p2's i can hit 250 or so.

those tiny cams already fead a b18bvtec 95mm stroked at 165fpt
i will built a 84.5mm Bore X 97 stroked III ported real 34mm valves and seats
The Dyno i post on this page is a B18 olding 140FTP at 7500rpm ITR cams.
A b20 would old less ?
A B20 Stroked... Not even more ?... Add TODA B cams ? Comon on !
A B20 ITR cams would hit 155 FPT
B20 Stroked 95mm Noting less than 165fpt ITR cams ( well... wen i built them )

As everybody was saying 200Whp is not possible wit B18 bloc and stock cams...
As everybody also said i will not make over 150 torque wit my B20nonvtec stroked cams stock... But this dyno is coming soon, im droping motor in my car nex week... Roding the bloc that will be use for nex VTEC set up...

Just retuned my 17K mile b16a.

BC3+ cams
Headgames valvejob
0.25 over PCTs
Edelbrock header w/2.5 mod
2.5"cat and exhaust
Ported p30 intake
everything else stock b16a
Tuned by D-Rob @ IMW

185hp/136tq

Yes the torque is unusually high for a 77mm crank but no tricks here.

Stock internal B16 all bolt-ons

Name: dyno.jpg
Views: 1011
Size: 96.4 KB

First run couple months a go.... 152.97whp 105.71wtrq
Full PMR Intake system
Skunk2 Pro series Intake Manifold
Stock Exhaust Manifold
Stock Cat.
2.5" 5zegin catback exhaust
Vtec set at 5800rpm, any earlier there was a dip
NO TUNE

Second run couple hours a go.....166.26whp 114.78wtrq
K&N Filter (RF1014)
Blox Velocity Stack
PMR Intake tube
Skunk2 Proseries Intake Manifold
Vibrant 4-2-1 J-Spec Header with true 2.5" collecter
Vibrant 2.5" Hi-flo Cat
Skunk2 Megapower R 70mm (2.75") Catback exhaust
Vtec set at 5600, could probably pull in back a bit more
NO TUNE

So pretty much with the full exhaust still no tune I gained 14whp and 9wtrq, also youll notice I was able to bring vtec back a bit earlier and its hit harder now

My air/fuels are way out of wack when vtec hit, tuner said the way it is with a good tune Id be in the mid-hi 170whp

88.5mm Arias h22 pistons (11.8:1)
Full race port/polish head (Performance Porting)
Head milled 20thousandths
Full supertech valvetrain
Crower 3 cams (soon to be S2P2's)
Custom ported JDM 'double stack' intake manifold
Erick racing side-exit header
4" Velocity stack/intake to 3" reducer into TB
Blox 76mm TB
Walbro 255lhp
DSM 450's

5500ft elevation

green - original tune on this setup (baseline today)
red - tune on this setup as of today

Any ideas on how to do away with the dip at the mid point on the graph? As you can see we cleaned it up quite a bit, but it's still dipping a little.
