i am almost done putting my db together, came across a sweet deal for some tl type s 17 rims. i want to polish them up nice and thrwo them on. i am not going to buy a type r 5 lug converstion. just wondering if anyone has ever redrilled there stock hubs. if rotors can be redrilled why cant the hubs. the only problem i can think of runnnig into is pressing the studs into the hubs. the lug nuts should keep them tight. maybe a lil jb weld or tack welds on the back to keep them in place

Hey guys speaking of the right way, i was actually wondering if anyone knew where i could get a five lug convertion kit to put on my da? Wat else would i need to make it work
I don't know if it would work. If your holes are off center even the slightest bit you are going to have some major problems. You would need to use a CNC mill for sure.
No offense, but you're getting flamed because this is a terrible idea. You would, most likely, be compromising the structural integrity of the hub. Go ahead and try it though. If a wheel falls off then you must post pics!!

There's no "kit"; you would have to either buy the parts new from a dealer, or else used from someone parting out a car or a junkyard or anyone else who has the used parts available for sale. And unless you're buying new, you might or might not find all the parts in one place. For used parts, check the h-t classifieds, eBay, etc.

You would have to make sure it's balanced perfectly or it will rattle it'self apart. If you have an extra hub you could try pushing out the studs, welding the holes up, carefully plot the stud positions and drill them out. You can make sure the drill doesn't walk by using a punch in the center of the hole to be drilled.
Just get replacement studs for a 5X114 hub and get a shop to press them in for you.

u can redrill a rotor cause it doesnt take the load of the entire vehicle. The only way that could even come close to working rite is if you welded all the holes ground everything flush and used a cnc machine to drill the new holes. You couldnt drill the holes urself by hand because the holes need to be lined up exactly otherwise ull get some killer shakes
OP, there is no way possible to redrill a 4x100 pattern to a 5x114.3 without overlapping at least one hole. This is dangerous. I cringe when people redrill 282mm ITR rotors to a 4x100. (A 4x114.3 can be redrilled to a 4x100 without overlap.)

i understand what everyone is saying, and they are all good points. i was worried about them being balanced correctly. i guess the best route is to either try to contact a hub manufacturer and see if i can get either a set that hasent been drilled, or one driled by them for the 5 lug pattern. i do have a spare hub somewhere that ill try filling the holes in and seeing how well it looks.
