These new lighter ones. I saw one in my most recent Summit import catalog yesterday. They're supposed to save like 20 lbs overall or so. Can't remember exactly. I need to finish my rear suspension anyways...what do you think?

 

have a site? You know unsprung weight sucks so if they are just as strong and don't cost to much they might be worth it. I'd like to see what you are talking about. Any idea who make them?

 

I will get more info and post it up. I know Summit had them advertised. I've also seen them advertised in some of the most recent import mags.

 

SRR makes these also (sometimes sold as Top Fuel LCA's, but they're really SRR's). they're the purple ones, dunno if you've seen them. they look pretty nice and are about $200. I think there's a group buy on them right now at http://www.groupbuycenter.com . Supposedly they're stronger than stock, but that's claimed. I don't know anyone or spoken to anyone with them, so I won't trust what the sales guy says till I do.

I spent $70 a piece on new LCA's for a DelSol Vtec to get my
Comptech Integra bar to work on the '93 Si. 1st 5th Gen with one.
I wish I had seen the ad for those a little sooner.
I bought the LCA's last November in anticipation of the bar, and
to put in my Energy Sus. bushings in while I had them in my hand.
I am interested in seeing one of you guys with the lightweight LCA's.
Purple is funny. I spent 8 hours sanding down my B&M Fuel Pressure Reg.
Then like a year later they come out with colored ones.
That's ok, I like being the first with stuff.

If we are able to produce lightweight replicas...how much would people be willing to pay for them....need to balance cost vs retail to see if this is worth it.

 

Well, used ones are around $40 each.
I'm sure that double that would be a fair price.
I don't think they should be more than $35 to produce if you
know a good CNC shop.
I just bought new ones, cause I'm on the **** tip.

I might be interested in those. A friend of mine just gave me his rear swaybar from his 94 GSR and I'm not sure if I need GSR LCA's to get it to work on my 5th gen hatch. If so, I will definitely get a pair. Keep us posted.

 

I have a set of the SRR LCAs and really like them. Yes, they look cool, but I got them because of other reasons. They're just a bit lighter than stock by 1 or 2lbs, but come with hard bushings. Design is good; you can easily replace the bushings if they ever go out. I was able to feel the difference right away with the arms, as the rear end feels much tighter over bumps.

 

The ones I'm looking at right now are in the Summit Racing Import Catalog (July/August '01).

They are Competition Engineering Tubular Lower Control Arms. I'll quote what it says about them...

Much lighter and stronger than your stock units, these chromemoly lower control arms will reduce your vehicle weight by up to 24 lbs. Actually what we are trying to do is a FULL lightweight suspension package. all arms replaced front and back + light weight brakes...I'll keep you posted on our progress, and possible costs involved

I saw that Sway/Tie bar setup on Ebay a while back.
What kind is it. Looks a bit like my Comptech one (in overall design)
Only the Comptech one is less McDonalds Playland.
Is that an EK? Endlink mounting point on LCA makes it look like it.
I dig that whole circus vibe I'm getting.

They're just a bit lighter than OEM, approximately losing 2lbs each arm. Rigidity is increased, and the hard bushings definitely improve suspension feel at the back.

I don't think they make arms for EG... I'll inquire and get back to you.

what is the diference btw. the gsr and cicic lca's which enable u to use an integra sway bar?

 

I'm wondering if this new lower control arms will allow for front sway bar bolt in's? do they have the mounting holes for the stock sway bar locations?

 

seems like CE developed their front susp. parts for drag only. No sway bar mounts, and steering stops to go with the radius arm kit. If somone comes up w/ a lower control arm that's meant for road race(lighter/stronger w/ all factory mounting bosses for sway bar etc.- i'll buty it! Sorry, not really a point there.
