tokico illumina install help needed
Hey guys my friend and I got going with the installation of the illuminas w/ h&r springs on my EG. I am stuck at the part where I have to aseembly the tokico shock and spring. I am not sure on how to assemble some of the components.
From the picture, do I need to reuse the parts labeled 1 and 2?
Also for 3, I used the two rubber pieces that came with the shocks and put the new metal collar between them (I should have done this, correct?) What do I do with with that metal washer shown on top in 3-where does it go?
Thanks in advance guys.

didnt the tokico's come with new bumpstops? they usually do. if not, reuse the old one (pointing to #2). it looks like they were cut down already. leave them like that.
you dont have to reuse the dust cover (#1), but you should since you can. before you put the dust cover on, you MUST put that funny shaped goldish washer on the shock. (its not identified in the picture, its hiding behind the spring at the top on the old shock in the picture) its got a taper on it, flat side up. (put the bump stop on, then put the washer on, then dust cover). then you put the top hat on. yeah, install the new bushings just like it was before. then the washer shown on top of the top hat is the final thing before the nut. the "dish" of the washer should be \____nut ____/ . then torque down the nut, but dont gorilla it. keep tightening it, but once you notice resistance, STOP. just leave it good and tight, you dont want to strip the threads, or worse crack the threads around the allen head.
that should be it. dont forget that funny washer that goes above the bumpstop.

Hey Tyson thanks so much for the reply. Can you just clarify one thing? Looking at the picture below, which is the washer that needs to go on the bump stop (4 or 6, 4 was on the original stock and 6 came with the tokico shock and goes down fyrther than 4). Does the other one then go on top of 5 before the nut?
man, youre really lost huh...

couple notes. #6 looks like the "stop plate". its in the right place. it really should be obvious, it matches the taper on the shock. #4 is the top mounting washer. again, its like \____nut ____/ . however, #5 you have TOTALLY upside down. the TWO bushings should be opposite facing when sandwiching. its pretty clearly illustrated. when you tighten the nut, they both will squash down.
next time you should pay more attention when disassembling the shock...
