Default Missing K20

Hey guys, ive been reading a lot about your K20 conversions etc in the last few months, and decided it would be a good idea to buy one for my civic hatch, im from the uk, and after many weeks of tracking one down i gave up and resorted to ebay-bad mistake!!!
There is a losser under the name of Raven Devault (itechep@yahoo.com) who i brought the engine from, for $3500.
I was tempted to pay through paypal at 1st but then relised i would have to pay quite a bit more, than doing a wire transfer.
So i made the wire transfer, and ever since that dismal day i havent heard from him, ive emailed- but never any reply, i looked up his telephone no on the net, but never any answer-hes a bastard,
Its been over a month now and still no contact or sign of the engine, i took me ages to save for it,

Now i see hes changed his user id and put it on ebay again with the same pics as what he showed me. and calls himself Curt Duglas--What????
User id: sisauitde

So im emailing you guys with deep simpothy as to what can be done in this situation, living in the uk as may guess doesnt help.

any help would be much appreciated, after all i just wanted to build the dream project!!! [IMG][/IMG]

First off, choosing not to go through paypal was a bad move.

Second, Contact ebay asap. i can't believe you haven't done it already. At this point, in case you haven't realized it....You've been scammed. There is no motor, and there definately isnt any money. Best chance is to go through the bank.

But fear for the worst.

How long has it been? Getting an engine shipped to CT from California took about a month via truck (ground) a few years ago. Shipping from the UK will probably take just as long, if not longer.

True, but its disconcerning that the seller is not replying.

ugh...I'm definitely sorry for your unfortunate situation...At the very least, it's a very expensive lesson...
1) NEVER do a wire transfer overseas
2) watch out for weird fake sounding email addresses on free sites (yahoo, hotwire, etc.) like the one you listed.
3) Don't buy anything over 100 bucks from a seller with under 10 feedback.
4) warn all the bidders on the engine about what happened to you, so they can retract their bids and not let him do this again!

I found it and already warned the top 3 bidders with a link to this thread. That's how much I hate scammers and want to ruin their lives.

I contacted the buyer of that motor through eBay and told him not to pay the guy and to contact ebay or paypal if he hasn't already. I linked him to this thread. Hope this somehow helps, man.

The guy reported him to eBay and didn't pay him, so we saved one fellow tuner, hopefully this helps griggc, too. Good job H-T-er's.

That would be almost as good as scamming a scammer for all he's worth.

hey dudes, i just posted this note on K20a.org
"alrite guys, his user name when i purchased the item was: Itechep, and called himself Raven DeVault, the wire transfer was made to the address below.
Raven DeVault
2874 S Oakland Cir E
Aurora, CO 80014-3135
(720) 748-7808
Although he didnt give me the telephone no, i had to track it down on the net, he gave a mobile but of course it didnt work!!!

I tried phoning the house a countless amount of times, but never any answer, it just goes to voice mail, i tracked down a neigbour and they new of the couple who live at the address, the lady (neighbour) told me their a middle aged quiet pair, and didnt think they would be up to something like this, also the voice message they leave matched this- try it yourself!!!.
The neigbour even offered to go around and see what was going on for me, but there's never anyone in at the address and shes only ever rarely seen them out in the street."

Post this in the a&c forum too man.
There are alot of people in that forum that can do alot for these types of situations. There are people in there that can track down anyone.... if you're lucky, there'll be someone in that area willing to go to his apt for you. you'd be suprised how far people will go, to catch a fellow member who's been scammed.

good luck w/ this bro...
