were't the 96-98 dx's the ones with the really f'ed up intake manifolds... the ones that came out the top... I believe so, someone correct me if i am wrong but i doubt this will fit those... just trying to help out

yep. Sorry to rag on your sale, but the D16Y7's had a vertical positioned throttle body. Will fit virutally any other civic/integra though.
If you send me a pic of it, and how bad the filter is, I might still be interested
