Default FS: Remote Starter

I have a DEI remote car starter that I am looking to get rid of. This unit is several years old, but has never been installed (still in original box). Accepting offers. (Model 552T).

Product Info.:

552T Valet Deluxe Remote Car Starter

Valet’s top-of-the-line remote start and keyless entry system offers consumers many of the features they have now come to expect from DEI’s ESP systems, including Owner Recognition, PC/Bitwriter programmability, and plug-in compatibility with Viper GPS Tracking System, for remote engine starting via telephone.

Anti-grind output,
Tach learn with confirmation,
Auto-restart, safety inputs, pinswitch,
Power doorlock outputs (+/-),
Ignition controlled power locks,
Two 2 button remotes,
3 channel output,

Valet mode,
Fuel-injected automatic transmission only,
Pre-ignition, program runtime 12/24/60 min,
Doorlock pulse duration (Prog. 0.8/3.5 sec),
Horn honk output,
DEI standard 12 pin harness,
Passive lock/not lock,
Channel 2 output,
Domelight output,
Failsafe Starter kill ready (Active/passive),
Neutral safety input,
HCRS-4 relay/high capacity relay satellite,
Parking light flash (Program constant or pulsing) relay,
Extended range antenna (Quarter mile range)
Now includes the HF Plus Antenna.

Please note that this unit has been discontinued and is now superceded by the "Your Valet 562T"

It looks like you can get the unit new for between $100 and $150 bucks. I am not looking to get anywhere near that much by the way.

I rep for DEI in the South East and installed DEI products for 10 years previously if you're wondering why I'm posting this pnthr30.

This is a solid piece guys. It's a easy install on Honda's and we (rep firm/distribution) have ZERO problems with them. Even thought the part number has been changed, it's still the same product. In fact, if you buy this from pnthr30 I'll get you the wiring schematic for your car, just hit me up.

Good luck with your sale. Just wanted to back it up as a high quality piece.

Bump for you!

it says automatic tranny only...is that just to cover their as in case someone leaves their car in gear? And this is a full service remote door lock thing too?

Thanks, Curtis.

Thanks a lot THEHARDWAYEK! To be honest, I didn't/don't really know much about this unit except for what I posted - and that is from a quick google/search. I am glad to hear that somone in the know thinks that this is a "solid" unit - I am not trying to rip anyone off, just trying to get rid of something that is sitting in the basement.

Curt941 - I do not think that this is a keyless entry - it is my understanding that a keyless entry would be a different/additional relay. (correct me if I am wrong THEHARDWAYEK).

To be honest, I am looking for a keyless entry unit (don't need a remote start), so if anyone wants to trade, let me know.

I'm totally jacking this thread on accident...

It is SUPPOSED to be for auto's only, you CAN wire it to a manual, but if you leave it in gear, you will find your car hopping across the parking lot/curb/front window of Dominos...etc. BE VERY CAREFUL. Basically it's like this, if you're responsible, then you shouldn't have a problem, I have one on a manual, never left it in gear, never had a problem...just use your brain. For the door locks question, it's a full keyless entry. It will lock and unlock your doors no problem. Any more questions?

pnthr30: The small harness with the blue and green wires is the lock/unlcok harness. SOME cars require a higher current input for lock and unlock, in that case you would need relays, but it's NO BIG DEAL. Hit me up if you find you need them, EASY thing to deal with. Hit me up if you need a keyless, I can find a store near you and make sure they take care of you.

PS no prob at all!

If you somewhat capable, you can do this. Someone that's never done one, I'd say four hours. Not really that hard. Someone that has done one, three hours at most. If you get this, hit me with your make, model and year and I'll get your wire info. Makes life MUCH easier!

Really? I didn't know that, I thought you needed a seperate relay/option or something.

I have a 99 Integra GS sedan with power locks, all I want to do is have keyless entry (probably don't want the remote starter hooked up because my daughter plays with my keys at times and I don't want my car just randomly starting when I don't know it. haha). So, you are saying that this unit can be hooked up as a keyless entry system?

If this is possible, any chance you can walk me through how to do it? Thanks a lot!

We probably need to get a PM going in stead of going back and forth in the classifieds............sorry guys.
