Damn dood you should have sleeved that block, then you would be in business. Motor would have been done.

And why is that? sleeves are siamesed and THICK as-is, and friends running the same set-up are showing no signs of grenading the engine running 15+ psi daily

B20 sleeves are the weakest sleeves. They are even weaker than Ls sleeves b/c they are one piece. I have seen those sleeves cave in and take every part of the bottom end with it. Why spend all that money toward the bottom end and not even sleeve it. Its not economically feasable. However ppl will learn from their mistakes. Good luck and hopefully I won't see any rebuild post.
Do a search an see for yourself. They aren't good sleeves http://www.b20vtec.com/b20sleeves.html

I did hit that underlined text called a "URL"! Hell ask any one here on H-T and they will tell you the same thing. If you are going to boost on a stock sleeved motor do it on an LS not a B20 THEY ARE WEAKER SLEEVES. Especially when you bore them out like you did. I don't know if anyone told you but when you bore out a motor, the sleeves become weaker and weaker.

Re: EBAY: 1996 Civic hatch with B20VTEC and TURBO (LsVTeCTuRBo17)
I dont know how to provide documentation for my friends car, and pictures would hardly tell the story. I only know what he tells me. I don't know the full history of his engine either, just that it's the same set-up as mine and still runs very well. He claims 15+ psi on a daily basis, so he claims- and I have no reason to argue with that. But regardless, the site that you provided (which I am also very familiar with), backed up your opinion with their opinion as well. What caused the sleeves to fail? tuning? lean condition? assembly? machining? There are too many variables.... I don't think there are enough turbo B20VTEC's out there to sample to draw a conclusive statement about the weakness of the sleeves. Were there further detailed tests to prove the theory? Also, is this problem exclusive to only turbo B20VTECs AND turbo nonVTEC B20's? This has been a discussion that I have followed for the past 2 years, and I personally have found no basis to support the theory and therefore, I opted not to resleeve the block.
Thanks
Thanks
