Not sure if they're legal for...well...anything I can think of roadracing / autocrossing wise, short of Prepared or Modified.

Maybe slightly useful in high horsepower drag launches, but the same effect can be had from stiff/solid control arm bushings.

Go hear to read a good review on it. And the radius arms are absolutely amazing, you need to try it to believe it. http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/z10.html

Im assuming you have one or knows someone who has one, because it sounds like your talking from experience, and not second hand heresay.

According to the SCCA solo2 rule book, under section 14.8E in the street prepared class, one is allowed to:

"to add/replace suspension stabilizers (linkage connecting an axle to the chassis to control lateral suspension movement) is permitted. Traction bars/torque arms may be added or replaced. A panhard rod may be added/replaced. Methods of attachment and attachment points are unrestricted. This does not authorize the replacement of any part of the welded on subframe to facilitate installation."

my interpretation of this rule would appear that the z10 rods are legal for SP, in addition to P, and M classes for autocrossing. If anyone else has used these in competition, please post your results here. I am very seriously considering purchasing these rods for my second gen CRX that I race in street prepared.

Since they replace the radius rod bushings on the CRX with metal and they are not in the original location I would say no go in SP.

SP 14.8 Suspention

C. Suspension bushings may be replaced with bushings of any materials (except metal) as long as they fit in the original location. Offset bushings may be used. In a replacement bushing the amount of metal relative to the amount of non-metallic material may not be increased. This does not authorize a change in type of bushing (for example ball and socket replacing a cylindrical bushing), or use of a bushing with an angled hole whose direction differs from that of the original bushing. If the Stock bushing accommodated multi-axis motion via compliance of the component material(s), the replacement bushing may not be changed to accomodate such motion via a change in bushing type, for example to a spherical bearing or similar component involving internal moving parts. Pins or keys may be used to prevent the rotation of alternate bushings, but may serve no other purpose than that of retaining the bushing in the desired position.

Thanks for the clarification, I guess I overlooked that rule statement. I wasn't thinking at the time about the radius arm bushings that would be replaced with the z10 pieces.

do you have these on your car? If so, tell us how the car now reacts to understeer/oversteer. People have said they "work", but noone seems to think of posting the effects the kit has on road race or auto X situations("handling"). I have the kit in garage, but i'm not putting it on if it's going to act like a bigger front swaybar(increase understeer).

Are these arms made for drag? roadcourse? autocross?

I always thought that the competition enginering was for drag

from what I have read they make steering more firm,
and make the car feel more responsive and nimble.
they were also said to have NO effect on front/rear bias/balance.

I know, i've heard that as well. But, i'm looking for feedback from anyone w/ experience in road racing, or multiple track events under their belt that have used the Z-10 kit and is willing to reflect on their experience with it. Anyone?
Thanks

No offense, but who does he road race with? Is he doing driving schools or racing, cuz a Z10 kit isn't legal in any form of road racing that I can think of.
