Somebody must have IBS....
Perhaps if you'd been there lately you would find the following:
1. The bathrooms are cleaned pretty much every hour
2. WDCR did not pay for new bathrooms (which include pretty nice showers), the track did. In fact, if you do a little walk of the paddock, you might even find them.
3. Said facilities have been in existence for over two years
Fact is I'm not telling anybody where they are. I like the solitude and don't mind paying an extra $50 (MARRS races are $175) for it.
Sounds like Catch is basing his argument on three year-old info. Pre bathrooms and pre-paving.

Scott,
well, as usual we will just have to agree to disagree...I like it there sans the cold months :shrugg:
I havent had the distinct pleasure of visiting the multitude of premier facilities that grace Gods favorite state....Georgia, but im pretty positive they have their 'flaws' just like every track, which in my opinion gives them character.
So, **** it....stay in Georgia. Nobody wants to force you to visit a track you despise. Im sure the track officials / NASA, SCCA, whatever officials / Track owner / and all the volunteers who are there for the weekend who are there for YOU,THE RACER wont miss another whiner.

Since we seem to enjoy specualting so much......................
BSR does nto need the money from racing, clubs, etc. to keep his track operational. Its main use pays dividends beyond the weekend racer/HPDEand that involves blowing **** up and Caprice Classics
1. haps this new track is to give him a rotation of tracks usuable by both bikes and cars so he can not make hasty repairs on the other 2 tracks and take his time and do it right.
2. Jefferson is a great beginner track and the bike racing boys from our area absolutely love it. (as well as Warren
)
3. Maybe the occasional dis-satisfied customer doesn't get Bills panties in a bunch. There are a tremendous amount of racers that enjoy that track.
I guess dealing with the tracks conditions, as much as weather, other competitors, etc, is not supposed to be a part of racing.

Jefferson is laughable,
Why "laugh" at the most technical track on the east coast....???
Anyone can go fast at VIR... Optimum car setup and a "real" driver are needed to excel at Jefferson.

Yup. The WDCR-SCCA owns the second bathroom, the registration building, and I think the also own the scales (three of the nicest buildings at the track).

Thats pretty sad. Really, it is.
OK. Since you guys are OK with all of it then I guess its OK. I personally think you're all crazy but thats my opinion and I'm entitled to it. You know, the same way that some of you guys are entitled to your opinion that CMP sucks.
Agenda? Ain't got one other than it'd be nice to have another nice track to visit. I love the layout of Summit. Hate everything else. Thats not a "nice track" IMO.
In the end I think many of you guys put up with it because of proximity. Will and Jack(?) and others(?) apparently drive there for free for whatever reasons. But hey, if you guys are all cool with it the way it is... Have fun.
Scott, who did mention his concerns to the boss the last time he was there and was ignored. Of course I was... If so many people are OK with speedbump concrete patches and nasty bathrooms why should he spend any money to correct it <shrugs>.

yeah sure, the 6.5 hour drive from SC is a total breeze for me.................................

IMO Summit is a great track....all the bumps and rough areas are what make it so technical. It's all part of the character of that track....part of going fast at summit is knowing where these bumps and rough areas are and using them to your advantage. You have to drive it several times to understand this I guess. It seems most people I talk to don't like it the first time but after a few visits, something changes there mind? The other thing about summit that is badass is in order to be real fast there you need to have coconuts for *****.....turn 3, 4, and 10 most importantly will make or break any fast lap time there. If your not at the ragged edge through these three turns you will never be able to turn a lap at the full potential of any car. But I also would rank Summit as my third favorite track out of all that I have driven. RA 1st, VIR full 2nd.......allright, I'm done babbling
all tracks have character....it just so happens that summit and cmp have alot more character than other tracks.....no neither is my favorite track but if i had the option of going to a track or sitting at home......well i'd be at the track....
you know the new track is setup as more of a "test course" , right ?
anyone can look at the layouts and see as it may not be the "ideal" it will be very helpful in quickly sorting out a race car.
have you guys even seen the size of the new skipad ?
guess not
and I like Summit due to the fact its my local track , I dont like CMP cause it needs the help of a bulldozer to be fun , if I wanted to drive around in parking lots I'd autocross.

Understandable. As I mentioned above. If you say "I like the Summit complex because its close and I don't like CMP because its too far away" then you are making sense.
But one of my points is how some of you guys can look at Shenedoah and say stuff like this...

I don't get it. The part of CMP that you think needs help from a bulldozer is still more open and flowing than 3/4 of Shenendoah.
And I, as a Honda Challenge director, was told last year that Shenandoah was in fact intended to be used for wheel to wheel racing. At one point it was even on the 2003 ECHC schedule as suggested by top NASA officials.

I like Summit because its fun and extremely technical like JE said.
I dont like CMP because of T11-14.

flow shouldnt even be used in the same sentence as CMP.
the Kink aside , that place blows.
at least Summit has some shade and is safe IMHO...

Safe? Exactly which section of CMP has eaten more cars than turns 3-4 and 10 at Summit?
And I think that turns 11-14 at CMP blow as well. For exactly the same reasons that I can look at the track map of Shanandoah and say its gonna blow. Not just one section, the entire track is very similar to 11-14 at CMP.

I feel safer at Slummit than most other places , but I prolly dont even count since I dont even race yet.
