While we are waiting for GT4 to come out......
Guys, BUY "Super Trucks Racing" for PS2 
Its 14$ at walmart, you can set the trucks up better than your favorite F1 game, Computer AI can be change to be more agressive, cockpit view rules!
Trust me, its well worth the buy.. Dualie powerslides rule

I forget what rally game Microsoft puts out but I have really enjoyed playing it. It gets a bit brain numbing when the AI navigator is calling out the turns, 2-3 turns ahead! Not sure if that's the one you're talking about.

The best racing game on the home system: PRO RACE DRIVER
Available on PC, PS2, X-BOX and Game Cube I believe.
I like it better then GT3 because PRD doesn't make the game "Kid friendly". For example, if you stand on the brakes they lock up, you damage your car too much, things start making noises and eventually fail. Common cheats like riding the side rails or blasting through sand traps don't work in this game. In car cam is also really cool, especially when you damage the hood and it flips up and blocks your view.
Also, it's one of the few video games that you can really tell a difference between FWD and RWD cars.
Available on PC, PS2, X-BOX and Game Cube I believe.

I think it's the most realistic home game out.
Did you use a steering wheel and pedals? These are a must in order to have the necessary brake and gas sensitivity or else you'll be in the walls with locked brakes or spining wheels. If you were to try with controller buttons it would be just way too hard.

A wheel and pedals are a must then, because I gave up on that game pretty quick with the control pad.. Also the F1 Carear challenge Game..
At least GT3 can be played VERY well with a controll pad, along with Super Truck racing...

Havent played it for PS2. The DC controller is the best control pad for racing, because the long throw left and right triggers are perfect for gradual throttle and brake. I assume that you can configure the sticks to do this for PS2 like GT3 but Im not sure.

As did I, but the analog sticks work just fine.
I know GT3 isn't as hardcore a sim as some, but play it with simulation tires before you judge the physics engine...BIG difference.

Nope. I've never played a DC, except for very brief in-store demos. I don't know how well the DC's analog sticks work, but the PS2's are great.

Eh...I never liked the Xbox's analog triggers, so I doubt the DC would do much for me. Then again, I've grown very accustomed to using the right stick for gas and braking.

Well if you can manage to "un-accustom" yourself then it really is better... trust me The pS2 controls really offer very little for modulation and feel, but of course GT3 does a great job of masking this so its really not an issue.

GT3 is pretty much the only racing game I play, so...yeah. I have used a Dual Shock on my PC to play NFS: Porsche Unleashed.
