Whats the best chassis for Road Racing? URGENT
I have heard different stories. Some people claim that the best chassis for Road Racing is the Civic Hatchback, other say its the Integra because the weight balance and disctribution and other things. Putting aside the engines since I run the Open class with what ever motor I want, which chassis would you choose?
Thanks

From the hodgepodge of stuff I have here, it looks like for drag and frontal area, in order,
CRX Si, 90-93 Acura Integra, 92-9? Civic Si, 86-89 Acura Integra, 94+ Acura Integra. They
range from a 5.71 Cd(Ft^) - 6.56. If it were me, and they were all as easy to bolt stuff up to,
I'd go w/ the Rex if it were the stock motor or just a wee bit more but after that, the 2nd gen
Intera looks much better cause it will probably be significantly easier to drive. JMO
Out of curiosity, why is this Urgent?

Re: Whats the best chassis for Road Racing? URGENT (mstewar)
Its urgent because I am about to do a trade with a friend, I am giving him my 92 Civic HB chassis and he will give me his 93 GSR Integra chassis.
Here are the options, which one would you choose for all out Road Racing
1. 92 Civic HB chassis
2. 93 Integra GSR chassis.
About the Open class, here in Panama you are allowed to run any engine you want as long as its the same brand as the car and does not exceed 2000 cc.

Re: Whats the best chassis for Road Racing? URGENT (jwaked)
I'd go w/ the 2nd Gen Teg (assume the GS-R & RS have the same underpinnings just different motors??) - shorter
wheelbase, shorter overall, wider, has basically the same suspension as my car (and there is a truck load of suspension
parts for my car it seems) and they look badassed.
this is what I got:
92 GS-R:
Cd = .32
FA = 19.54'
Height = 50.0"
Width = 67.4"
Wheelbase = 100.4"
Weight Dist. = 61%
1st = 3.31
2nd = 2.11
3rd = 1.46
4th = 1.11
5th = .88
92 Civic Si:
Cd = .31
FA = 20.47'
Height = 53.0"
Width = 66.6"
Wheelbase = 101.2"
Weight Dist. = 62%
1st = 3.25
2nd = 1.90
3rd = 1.25
4th = .91
5th = .70
??
I like the GS-R myself. The only downside might be that the Civic can likely get down to a lighter weight. How much lighter, I have no idea.
