What is so special about the ITR rear lower control arm
I have a 88 crx Si which has the ITR style lower arms, and have heard that this is the car to have. It was explained to me that the arm allows for toe-out under compression. How dose it do this???

the toe-ing effect has nothing to do with the lower control arms. according to the thread, its the chassis mounting point at the front compensator arm, which its affect was dialed back after 88.
the ITR arms are sought after from crx owners because they can then use JDM suspension.

The ITR lower arm is a stamping with a hat shaped profile and the lower shock mount is the "eye" type.
The crx/civic piece is cast iron and accepts the "u" lower shock mount. The ITR piece is probably lighter, but beyond that...?

Tyson thanx for that post CRX Lee had some good input. The car is already lowered and has much stiffer rates. So based on what Lee says the rear steer tendency is probably gone.

the arms might be the same weight but.....
on the buddy club system the lower mount connects to the LCA via a removable mount that screws off the shock....the ITR mount is about 3 times as heavy as a GSR or EK mount!!!

also...the diameter of the hole in which the shock body fits into (on the ITR LCA) is wider/larger, thus allowing a wider/larger diameter shock body.
