What else to get?
I'm planning to get into AutoX, and I'm modifying my Integra with that in mind. So far I've gotten Neuspeed front and rear upper strut tower bars and a rear lower tie bar. I have an Eibach Pro-Kit and Koni Yellows installed. I have a Comptech 4-2-1 Header, Carsound Hi-Flow Catalytic Converter, and a Comptech Catback Exhaust. I plan to get a Comptech Icebox intake soon. I'm putting Pirelli P700Z's on 15" wheels this week. I plan to soon purchase and install an ITR rear sway bar with reinforcement kit (BSQ/Beaks). My radiator is leaking so I will probably be putting in a Fluidyne radiator. My clutch is also going bad so I'm going to be putting in an ACT clutch and possibly a Clutchmasters lightweight flywheel.
What else should I think about doing to my car to make it an autocrossing demon? Is the flywheel worth it - it will be $350 or however much the part costs but labor will be free if it goes in the same time as the clutch.
Let me know,
Ben

I'm in Frederick, MD; when is the next nearby autocross, where can I go to learn without paying Skip-Barber-rates, are there any clubs for this stuff, etc.?
Thx,
Ben

Skip Barber won't teach you anything about autocrossing. Just go out and drive.
DC Region SCCA Solo II Schedule
The next event is 9/22. You just missed one on Sunday. There may be a Novice School in the works for sometime this fall. Keep checking back to the Solo II website and if something happens I will update the site to reflect the event.
Drew - Who has a direct line to god since he is a Solo II Committee member/webmaster and the son of the DC Region SCCA Solo II Chairman . . .
By the way I am in Fredneck too . . .

No ALTD is Autocrossers Limited and the MWCSCC is the Metropolitan Washington Council of Sports Car Clubs. ALTD is part of the MWCSCC as is the DC Region SCCA Solo II, The Saab Club, Shelby Dodge Club, Porsche Club, SESCA and probably a few others that I have forgotten.
Council Member Clubs
Autocrossers Limited

Saab Club, National Capital Area (SCNCA)
Salazar Racing
Sports Car Club of America - Washington DC Region
Shelby Dodge Auto Club National Capital Chapter
Southeast Sports Car Association (SESCA)
Team Asylum Racing
Z-Car Club of Northern Virginia
And these are "Clubs" as in non-profit organizations, not kLuBz y0!

Then get with the council and host an autocross. 50% of the profits get kicked back to the council and you need to hold the event in the DC Area.
You will have better luck co-sanctionning an event with the WDCR-SCCA since they have the equipment and the facility - just donate manpower and you can probably work it out to get your name in. We do it with Autocrossers Inc several times a year. The only hang-up may be your lack of SCCA affiliation. A.I. is Susquehana Region SCCA.

i think matt is in the process of gaining an officer position within NASA. As for the motorsport club, he didnt go to JMU and he's much less involved with the stuff that goes on when we're not at the track. Planning a car show last fall was a logistical nightmare since none of us had ever done it before. But we had 50+ cars, gave out $300 in prizes and a JMU cop (on duty, in uniform) did one bad-*** burnout in his Pontiat GTO (389 tri-power engine)...
This fall should be much more promising as we learned alot about campus red-tape and the like. We should have more prizes, a DJ, more local vendors out giving away free propaganda, more cars, and a better site than off in the corner of campus hidden by trees and the tennis courts.
We would love to see some ECHC guys there!!!! (hint, hint, poke, nudge...) September 21st...

I have no car to bring otherwise I would. I can always bring my fenders and hood . . .

My new one will hopefully be built sometime in October for the Novemeber NASA-SP weekend.

Well we are going to look at a car tomorrow (tonight actually - geez look at the time). I am already starting to locate the **** I will need for it. If all goes well we may be working by the end of the month. I have no idea where yet but that is a bridge to cross when we come to it.
Don't **** around with all that motor stuff if you want to be fast with autocross--just get really good tires (R compound) and take some schools instead. Your car will be way faster with a more knowledgable and experienced driver then the mods will even come close to doing.
