What do I do with these????
These came in today. Wonder what they are for?!?
For a technical side, is there anything to do before I can use the Toyos?

i was thinking more of maybe mounting them to some super fantastic JDM wheels!
Anyways, I got these for VIR coming up at the end of the month if I could use them, but if not thats what the Azenis are for. I dont know what to expect grip wise though.
How do the heat cycles work do thse need to be heat cycled?

I'd shave them down to 4/32" depth. You'll get way less tread squirm and they will be pretty fast in the very first session at that depth. Plus, they still handle rain fairly well at that depth and last almost just as long. As for setup, the RA-1s seem to like a lot of negative camber and the 50 series tires like to be right around 38-40 psi hot with an ideal surface temp of 180-190*. Run them until you see cords with periodic rotation from front to rear and side to side. Some people say that they heat cycle out, but I've never experienced that personally. I generally run them until the first sign of cords poking through.

I have been through 3 sets of RA-1's in competition use and my experience is the exact opposite. By Heat Cycling them (and letting them rest for a night) I get better grip and more use out of them and they will tend to maintain their grip over a great number of Heat Cycles (race weekends).
If I don't heat cycle them they will become non-competitive in terms of grip LONG before their tread is gone, and that is the equivalent to throwing money away.

Ahhh my secrets OUT!!!
Nah.
I have 1 azeni, i will post a picture of that reallyh needed replaced. I drove 30 miles on it flat without knowing, then 1 autox, and 1 track day before it started giving me problems!!! tough tire.
And I cant replace just one tire. So I will have 2 new azenis and 2 used ones for my LS mesh rims.
And the Toyos are for the top secret wheels that should be arriving soon.

From my own experience at VIR last June. I was on RA1's that where shaved to 4/32. I loved them. They acted just the way FlyZlow said. After 366 track miles that weekend the tires wear was very even and really didn't show much signs of wear at all. It even rained a little on one session and I hardly had to lift out of the throttle at all. I use 615s on the street and AutoX.

Exactly the same situation here. Except I ran them for one day at Watkins Glen before Expo.
