Some temps from Hizzyfest for everyone to digest:
Grass in the shade: 78°
Grass in the sun: 92°
Asphalt in the sun: 109°
Black showcar's hood: 125°
This was on Saturday sometime right around lunch, so not the hottest of the day.</TD></TR></TABLE>
On the starters Pier
Saturday in the Shade = 94
Saturday in the Sun = 109
Sunday in the Shade = 100
Sunday in the Sun = 119
This was around 1 or 2 oclock on both days...

These are diuretics (sp?). In other words, they make you want to pee. The coffee has caffine & the soda has the double whammy diuretics of sugar & caffine. </TD></TR></TABLE>
Super big time agree with this - stay away from the watery fruits (honeydew, watermellon, cantaloupe), caffeine, carbonation and sugars. I have also been told recently to try load up on potassium prior to events (broccoli was the example but not necessarily bananas the day of). I have also been a long time believer in the two shirts in summer, one in spring thing as wearing two tee shirts means that you'll have a cool wet/damp shirt against your body once you do break a sweat.

Yeah, I guess sitting around all/every day and feeling like a big pile of meat is worthwhile... Except when you can't perform certain tasks and need to spend $$ on a cooling system because your body can't keep itself cool

I like meat. It tastes good. Exercise would be okay if it didn't suck.
