Weird problem....
Hey guys I gut got finished rebuilding a 96 Integra RS to be used as track toy. I got it back on the ground last weekend. I have driven it about 50 miles since. Here is the problem, in 1st and 2nd gear it feels like well I don't know. I guess almost like the wheel bearings are binding and then releasing very quickly (not at the same time). I have replaced the wheel bearings, axles, and all of the brake components on the car. The wheel bearing are torqued to specs. I dyno'd the car last Friday and the #'s were very low. I stopped by the shop yesterday and the owner and I were talking and he said he kinda felt the car walking around on the rollers. He checked the straps after each run....
I know I still need to change my transmission fluid. But any other ideas?

Make sure the brakes aren't dragging and that the pads are installed correctly. It sounds like either that or maybe something to do with the differential?
Its the OEM open diff. I was thinking that to. I guess I need to change that fluid ASAP!! And the brakes are not dragging at all after a 30 mile drive in the car they were not hot and have not even marked the rotors yet??
Are you getting any kind of growling noises? Pops? Clicks? Tires in good shape, old flat spotted tires perhaps? Have you had the trans case open to check the condition of the gears? Axle shaft splines?Dif splines? Little more detail in the description of the problem would help out. It's the internet, technically nothing can really be diagnosed through a computer just some direction is about all that can really be given.

No I understand. I'm not looking the "answer" just a direction to look. So to answer your questions, no pops or clicks, tires are fine. The trans case has not been opened so I'm not sure of the physical condition of its internals. I can say that I drove this car for about 600 miles before it went on jack stands for 3 months and it did not do this. I guess I could also describe the feeling as if there were a binding in the wheels in kind of a side to side action. The sensation is very light but it brings up concerns because I am going to VIR with the car in like 8 weeks. The car has no abs, like I posted before the axles, bearings, and brakes are all new/re-manufactured.
After doing some reading all the svc manuals say to drain the trans before you remove the axles... I did not, and the car sat with out axles for 4 weeks. I really don't see what could happen, I don't remember it leaking tranny fluid but Im picking up some Honda MTF tomorrow and will be changing the fluid sat afternoon.
Thanx for all the ideas

Nope not a tire issue same wheels and tires were driven on my CRX see avatar, taken off and put right onto the Integra. Felt no problems while on the other car.
Put the front end up on jackstands and spin each tire. Is there any binding? Your description sounds like a problem I have seen with either a bad inner cv joint not sliding in and out properly or a problem with axle length. I have seen a too long axle make a similar binding problem. Remember that new/rebuilt parts does not equal guarenteed good parts.
Oh yeah, another thought that just popped into my head is to double check the axle nuts too. I had one get about 1/2 turn loose and it allowed the bearing and axle to wiggle a bit.
