Wow, thanks for the link. I might actually bid on some shop stuff. I'm definately going to send the link to some race teams I know.

The Team Australia (formerly Walker Racing) Champ Car team bought one or two of Panther's transporters.
Sucks how a two-time consecutive championship team could fold three years after their championship.
So Tony George, what was that about "affordable racing"?
Now there's rumours (so far unsubstantiated) of a new IRL team called "Yellow Ribbon Racing" that would depend on "patriotic donations" to fund the team. This team would probably give the US Armed Forces a bad name.

I wanted to buy the Longacre scales but they were $400 as of yesterday. My budget for them was $500 so I blew off the auction this morning. I figured they would easily top $500 after a buyers premium. Since word of this auction spread like the clap all over the interweb last week, the chances of getting a real bargain are slim.

Yeah... People are spending a lot of money on this stuff. I have a feeling I'm not going to win one of the 2005 IRL cars with my $425 bid...

Sure, but the $1k set would probably weigh stuff just as well as the more expensive sets. BTW, the most expensive set of longacre scales I have sever found are $1700 brand new. Still doesn't look like a bargain to me.

Re: Wanna start your own IRL team? (GChambers)
I can't find the ads I had seen, but there were definitely some over $2K. They had bigger weight ratings, bigger pads, different computer displays. I agree that the $1K one would be just as good as any of the others, but if it was like a super uber setup, $1700 might be a reasonable deal.
