Default Understanding Differentials

Hi all. I know that there has been a lot of discussion on the forum about the different types of differentials available. The following is a link to an article written by Craig Taylor, the President of Taylor Race Engineering. Craig is a Mechanical Engineer, Drivetrain Expert with 40-years of experience, Multi-time National SCCA Driving Champion and Land Speed Record Holder. I learned quite a bit.

For the first time, I am glad i have a Quaife LSD instead of a Kaaz. It sounds like the clutch types require maintenance, which I know no one is doing.

Damn, that seems pretty simple, lol. So is anybody running a auto torque bias LSD for racing? I know it's bad if you lift a wheel, but in a FWD car with a light front swaybar, that should be pretty rare. Any other reason that people might run a clutch type instead of auto torque bias?

Lots of folks run ATB style differentials. I have one on my road race car, KAAZ clutch-type units on my rally cars. I personally would never go back. You don't need to to THAT much maintenance.
