The truth behind bump steer
So i'm planning my crx build and i'm looking at front knuckle options. I have an HF so my knucks have to GO. I have no problem snagging SI knuckles, but i am interested in DA or SiR knuckles because their wheel bearings are a bit bigger. Also, the DA has a slightly more aggressive camber curve which is always nice. The problem is, none of the threads or websites i could find compared the TIE ROD hole locations between the 3 knuckles (as discussed here http://winhpde.com/tech/civic/ef-honda/) . I'm afraid that if i use a DA knuckle, i'll introduce bump steer. I'm also unaware of any geometry changes that the SiR knuckles have compared to the SI. Does anyone have any info to share??

Re: The truth behind bump steer
I have been working with race cars for 30 years. Personally, get confused with the alphabet soup of Honda chassis designations. I built a bumpsteer gauge years ago with two steel plates, a couple of hinges a couple of simple bolts.
I will take pic and post it up. That pic is good in the 2D world of paper but with all the links of modern cars, it is a little difficult to explain without 3d modeling. I normally resort to the "Play with the final answer and get that correct" method.

Re: The truth behind bump steer
This is my setup, measuring both camber curves and bump toe on the front of my Evo X. But the thing is is that i modeled the front, built a shank, measured the stock setup, then measured again with my shank till i could zero it out. No one in the Evo X world has done this before, or atleast i'm the first to share it with the world, i dunno. I was hoping that someone already did the hard work for the 88-91 CRX/Civic EF and whatnot. I guess not
