Re: (SJR)
Hmm. never had a student refuse to put on a headset. I like to think my "butt-o-meter" (acceleromter/crash sensitivity) is a second or two faster/better than most of my students. I usually see/feel a screw up coming before they do. I find it very important to be able to tell them before they **** up that yes, a **** up is immenent and they can scrub, correct, whatever to prevent the loop, spin, crunch. That is something that happens occasionally as the student progresses in finding his or his car's limits.
I am like some of the others. If they said no, that would send up a red flag and I might not ride with that student.

I've been using my Chatterbox for two years, which means about twenty events. The unit has been fine and the headset in my helmet has been fine. Just last month the student headset started developing crackling noises, so I replaced it and it's fine now. To replace a headset for $32 once every 20 events is okay with me, far better than the Nady crap.

Hmm. I guess I am the odd ball in the bunch.
I have 25+ events on my NADY, and I'm sure mine gets used much more than most of you.
I typically have 8 students or so in one day, and the headset gets used for everyone every event.
Mine still works great! I usually help them put it in and take it out, so it's not an issue!
Oh, and when I have that many students, all I do is instruct all day. Talk about a tiring day. Being in a car on track for 6 hours is killer. But I still like doing it.

Re: (prkiller)
prkiller, like you I have a nady. Have had the last two years for I guess about 12 DEs. Still works. No problems. Use it with students every time.
