tire ?
aight,my question is I have Bridgstones RE010 195-55-15 that came stock with my car, however they're some what worn from the outer edges chunks of rubber gone (road racing )would it be ok to have them remounted backwards inner thread outside? I heard you couldn't do this with some tires, sidewall strenght/pattern issues,is this true?also are Toyo Proxes RA1 205-50-15 good for track and street?how much?where?I noticed my tracktion is good for a few laps then it goes to ****,I know temperture and whatever but would this be the same issue on the Toyos?thanks!

The Toyo ra1 are a DOT approved tire.So you can use them for street use. They will wear quickley so plan on replacing them about every 6000 miles in normal street use.If this tire is to be used as a cross between track/autocross and daily duty then you will of course beat them up sooner.
Best bang for the buck in a R compoud.
Yes you can swap tires anywhich way you want. The directional arrows are for the best water dissapation.

AFAIK, the RE010 are directional and symmetrical, so you can swap them left to right (but you'll have to have them remounted "backwards" on the wheels) so you'll have them rotating in the right direction with the chunked blocks on the inside.
Outer edges worn generally indicates an alignment problem (particularly not enough negative camber) so that is going to happen even worse (and more quickly) if you put on a stickier tire like a Toyo RA-1.
The RA-1 will work for track and street, but prepare to replace them once or twice a year on a daily driver. In the long run, a tire like the Falken Azenis will be a better bet, because it is significantly cheaper and will last longer on the street. Sure it will give up some dry traction to an RA-1, but if you're serious about your competition, you'll need another set of wheels with a dedicated set of track tires (Kumho V700, Hoosier R3/A3S03, etc) because that's what it takes to win.
Hope that helps,
Jon
