THUNDERHILL HONDA CHALLENGE VIDEO
Thanks to Paul for hosting this for me on short notice. It will be available at this location for the next two weeks only. I have tons more footage that didn't make it into this video, and it's a shame I wasn't able to use all of it. Hopefully this one is entertaining. Please right click and save to your machine.
Special thanks to James Ayotte and Greg Marshall for their in-car footage, and to Mike Quan, Greg Marshall and Team Continental for their efforts with getting this thing together. Deserving thanks to the core H-T.com group on both coasts as well.
PLEASE RIGHT CLICK & SAVE AS Details: 24 megs, and about 7 minutes long.

Nice job John!
Scott, who especially enjoyed the in-car from Greg showing him trying to get out of what must have been one nasty clingy drenched suit....

That is pretty funny. I'm glad someone else noticed that. It's wierd what the camera picks up when you forget to shut it off.

My thoughts as I was watching Greg attempt to get out of his suit: "My God, get it off him, get it off him!!!!!!!" lol You were fighting that suit harder than your car in that last clip
Nice recovery though, I thought you were going off there. Great video John, as usual.

Re: (NSXboy415)
I can, but the problem then is file size. If you make it too big, nobody will bother to download it. If you chew the quality to make the file size smaller, it's not worth watching.
The question is: do people want to see a longer version or not?
I don't have a problem with making another version, it's just time on my part, but I also don't want people to get tired of seeing it. If folks want a longer version with more footage, post up and let me know. Otherwise, we'll leave well enough alone for now.

We didn't even get any footage of our own. We figured that we would put the camera in when we actually raced.
I would like to see a longer version.
John, maybe the site I mentioned to you could host both.

Depends how complex you want it. This one took me almost a week (evenings) if you count VHS editing time. I get the in-car VHS tapes from James and Greg in the mail, then I connect my digital cam-corder to the VCR and watch the entire thing through the LCD. When something cool happens, I only record that part to my camera. Repeat over and over for the next few hours as you watch both tapes.
Now you take the camera to the PC and upload the clips from the camera into the movie editor program. From there, you find some music (optional) and try to figure out what clip out of the 100 you have should go in what order so it flows well and follows the music (if that's what you want). You have to chop and edit a lot.
The problem is when you have too many clips that you want to use, and the music file you've chosen is only 4 minutes long.
Time invested just depends how perfect you want it. Mine aren't perfect but it still takes time. It's all good though. I do it because I like it and people seem to enjoy it.
